We do have a generous welfare system, granted France and Germany have better a better welfare system, but it is also disingenuous to suggest that most of Central/Eastern European have a more generous system than ours. |

Technically speaking you’re correct about them not needing to apply in the first country they arrive in, but the country they choose to apply in can decline their application if they have reasonable grounds to believe they have traveled through a country that is reasonably safe..
But the problem is that they were not getting processed, so we were unable to figure out where they actually traveled through before they applied for asylum ..
That was Farage’s point, it’s nothing to do with ‘keep the darkies out’ as you’re insinuating..
