Manager update 20:40 - Jun 3 with 22768 viewsHeadmaster

Toshack, Poyet, and Appleton included in a 6-man shortlist that is yet to be finalised. Mellon and Flynn are out. Henry and Kollner unlikely.

An uninspiring list to say the least. Preferences?

Toshack ? Really ?

Would he have Leon and Gary Waggy with him ..... like the Liverpool away game ?

Ffs His u23s just got relegated.

I'd ignore the relegation, as they lost loads of players, as many have already pointed out. They have worked wonders there for years before this season though and know the boys here. Decent fit imo.
However, I would prefer Kollner if I had to choose from that shortlist. Toshack 2nd choice. Not interested in the rest of them, but was also not interested in Rodgers when he came. I'll accept and back anyone they choose, as I have faith in the recruitment setup they are trying to put together here now.

A fisherman from East Timor who applied just missed the shortlist.

He didn't make it? I was holding out hope he was the elusive English speaking foreigner. Heard very positive things about him, had a good spell with Atletico Ultramar...

A bit gutted tbh.....heard his man-management skills on the boat were second to none...

Did I read it right that there is a 2nd round of interviews this week - which will then lead to a short list?
Taking their sweet time, aye!
This is leading me to believe that simply handing it to Toshack isn't a forgone conclusion.

Birch makes it sound like they haven't finalised the shortlist though. So are bbc sport / wales online telling porkies?

Sounds like all the journalists are guessing what is going on at the moment. Perhaps those that have leaked things to the press in the past are out of the loop?

I don't think he would last ten minutes with our owners,

???

Why not? Let's face it he had a couple of good seasons a ew years ago, certainly nothing to come all Billy Big Balls about.

I think he will demand a lot more than an apprentice Manager like Toshack, who will almost certainly get it and be happy to take what they give him.

The real deal is being kept at the very back of the betting ....

Clearly they didn’t see the Potter move coming off and didn’t have anyone lined up. Couple of positives for me, First is the communication, whilst they aren’t exactly giving the game away they are explaining what is happening and that’s a big plus on before. Secondly, Birch who will be the money man has someone who knows the club and football helping him with the process. A big improvement on before.

Not even in the betting and odds not even given upon request.

Go and ask your bookie in shop or online for Mr Oscar Garcia.

Not sure about Birch all he has done is appoint two old swans favourites to keep the heat off. Most bought it.
Let's be honest when have the bookies ever got our next manager right ?

OK I've changed it.

He's also relaid the ancient pitch, kept Cat One status for the academy and given a new contract to Routledge.

Ryan Lowe out of nowhere. They looked at two managers he finished above and something has been keeping him from his rumored Plymouth move.

If only he'd come back, pretty sure he had a strong relationship with Curtis & Britton when he was here.
