Tory leader

So where’s your money? Bear in mind that whichever dweeb you vote for if you had a proper vote (which you don’t unless you’re a member of the Conservative Party. Taking back control) is very likely to be the next prime minister of the UK. As terrifying as that prospect is when you look at the list.

I don’t know how many times this needs repeating.

The withdrawal agreement is the only deal on offer.

He’s Theresa MkII with a soupçon of Comical Ali.

He’s been in the ‘military’ for a grand total of 5 months in his life.

He’s a foreign office ‘diplomat’.

He’s far too sensible to get near the final two and if he does he’ll be crushed by Boris.

The Tory members are a bunch of morons who believe that we don’t need to do a deal with our biggest trading partner. They’ll vote Boris and it will destroy him. Either because he’ll call another referendum or because the fall out from a stupid exit will kill the party forever.

Rory can take over after the carnage.

Five or six months on a temporary commission with the Black Watch but I get the distinct feeling that his involvement with Military Intelligence runs somewhat deeper, Lis.

An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.

And we heard technology couldn't solve Irish border yet it's rumoured EU are working on a technological solution.

Withdrawal agreement was the only deal on offer because with May hardly pushing things, no incentive to organise anything else.

That's not the issue, May's deal has been rejected by parliament how many times? Stewart is somehow going to magically get that through by mass hypnosis? Of course not... but by stating "no WTO rules exit" we're back in a never ending circle of parliament not agreeing on anything, EU insisting they can;t change anything, yadda yadda.

Ok here goes. The WA is the only one on offer. May couldn’t get parliament to vote for it, neither will PM Rory.

No deal isn’t going to happen no matter how many times Boris and Dim Dominic pretend it is.

So yes, we’re back in this never ending cycle of madness. If only there was a way to break that.

The WA is the only thing on offer at the moment.

Things have to change, not just for us but for EU.

What would your way to break the cycle be?

So you think a different Tory PM could go back and negotiate a better deal? Which is exactly what you’ve been slating Corbyn for pretending he can do for months.

I'd say it's bloody difficult due to the hamfisted job done previously.

It depends how much EU want this resolved. They can say "WA won't be revisited" all they like, but they know Parliament won't approve it. New UK leader, new EU leaders ( Juncker, Tusk, Tajani roles all up for election Oct-Nov ) , who knows?

So that’s a no then.

We’re back to that cycle again.

Again, it depends who replaces Tusk, Juncker, Tajani.

Still at an impasse, a change of lead on both sides could lead to a change in approach by both sides.

It's either cycle continues, never leave or just scrap it and Remain then.

Both of which will really resolve things.

Both parties need to get on with things, get it decided and then move on. That's either WTO rules or both parties actually negotiating. A change in leaders on both sides *could* faciliate that. Low probability of that happening, but who knows?

Revoke article 50.

Apologise profusely.

Ask Ford, Honda, Nissan, Airbus ,JLR etc if they'd like to reconsider

As you were.

Yeah, there's about as much chance of Thailand coming back to beat USA being 11-0 down.

I miss Airbus after they left UK when we didn't join Euro as they wanted.

Revoke,

Via a referendum if necessary.

Or May’s deal.

Only two options.

Not necessarily wrong, not necessarily right.

He's an opinion writer, not a journalist so you're looking at subjective rather than objective text.

It's always useful to read such stuff for it's viewpoint. Well, maybe not if it's Squealer Jones.

OK, Ali. Actually, he is a journalist but never mind. Still in denial...

By the way, don’t use an apostrophe for the possessive pronoun “it’s” (it’s means it is or it has).

Twice lost lengthy and indeed excellently crafted replies so will keep it short.

He is a political commentator, an opinion writer so is not objective. He writes subjectively from the context of being against Brexit. That does not mean his points are all wrong any more than it means his points are all right.

As for the Tory leadership views, it is more pragmatic than 100 per cent ideological. People see Parliament reneging on clear manifestos, referendum result, invocation of Article 50 with deadline and clear default position.

BoJo is not who I would want as PM medium to long term ( not did I vote for him in this poll ) but through force of personality could deliver a Tory majority capable of getting Brexit through. After that, I would want a Stewart running the country - Stewart would fail to win a General Election at this point in time based solely on Brexit.
