Ok, can anyone here give a rough cost of tiling a 15m sq kitchen floor with 595 x 595 mm tiles, and 6m sq walls (size of tiles yet to be chosen). Including materials, but not the tiles themselves. Just that i've had a quote and it seems a bit extortionate, so would just like to know if it is or not? Also, throw in the cost of self levelling it including materials. Many thanks.
£300 for latexing the floor, £800 for tiling it including the adhesive and grout, £300 for tiling the walls.
Thanks . It's a couple of hundred over that, but we've had a great deal on the kitchen, and there will be someone overseeing everything who doesn't seem to be in the costing, so i'm not going to quibble over a few hundred quid. Thanks again.

Get another one or two quotes if i were you..Unless the first quote, the contractor comes highly recommended, it won't hurt to get at least one more quote or even two.

It's the same company that's doing everything. Just thought the cost of the tiling was a bit high. They've got 37 reviews 5*, so i'm not going to rock the boat at this stage, we've been let down so many times.

Personally, I think you are right! As you know the measurements and everything, you could most prob get a rough quote over the phone.. Although as you say, if you get a few quotes that come back a lot cheaper, what do you do then?

If it's google reviews pay no attention.. I just get a hunch, they are ripping you off.. If you are not obliged to contract to them for the tiling, don't bother.

I know a guy who is much affordable but is off road at the moment as his van needs welding and he can't afford to fix it. If you are interested I can give you more details but PM me.

Oh feck! Tiler's been today to level the floor, i was in work, and he asked the wife if he wants her to lay the tiles 'front to back' or 'left to right'? She didn't have a clue, and neither do i? They're slate tiles if that helps?

They are square tiles yes, so if your laying them stretcher type bond the joints will be staggered half half, then the parrell lines straight through govern which way they run, if that makes sense, draw it out on a piece of paper, you'll see what I mean. So the long joint will run parallel too or 90 degrees to your units.

Yes, that helps a great deal. I'm off to take a fvckin overdose!

Yes, they look great! It was quite simple really, the wife didn't explain things to me properly. It was simply down to the tiles being different sizes!

Thank gawd for that. At least it wasn't your fault.😀
