Albeit they are so sensitive about being politically correct, the BBC does produce some brilliant broadcasting (Strictly aside), and is a national treasure. On the whole the general public trusts them. Losing the BBC would be a big mistake and impact on our national identity. |  |

All things considered, the BBC is pretty good and offers a fairly impartial take on the world. I accept it doesn’t please everyone, but it’s a damned sight more impartial and objective than Sky, Russia Today and most of the other dross. It you compare it to the press, The Daily Mail, Express etc it’s decent.
In terms of pensioners having to pay, I don’t see any reason why a pensioner on a decent wedge can’t pay their way and that includes the licence fee, those who are on the breadline though should get it for nothing. | | | |

Was looking into cancelling this last week, I rarely watch TV and even less so the BBC. Something I found out was you need a license to watch ANY live tv. If the only thing you watch is one game on sky sports on a sunday, you need a license. Only thing you can legally watch without one is the catchup services like ITV Hub, netflix, youtube etc. |  | | |

Put it this way my Dads pension is probably more than most people on minimum wage he says he was lucky to be born when he was because today's generation will not get near his pension or had the chance to take early retirement he said and I think it's a good idea why not try a scheme where those pensioners well off enough to volunteer to pay for the licence see how that goes
