McBurnie to Sheffield Utd/Brighton for £12 million? 06:36 - Jun 21 with 55683 viewsBrynmill_Jack

If this is true we’d be mad not to say yes. Only caveat being that Cooper must have funds to replace him. Even better if we could bump it up to £15million

we should tell them to take a run and jump, that Mcburnie is not for sale, and don't even entertain their offers

If we get £20m for him I personally think we should play the ayews for the season.

We won’t get decent fees for them, we be lucky if any other plus pays over half of their wages. I can see if they do go well obe paying much of their wages out to them anyway, make them earn their money and build up their reputation. Honestly think them playing would put us in the play offs.

More chance of Baston if he's having game time with the u23s.

They would be a complete disaster and a bad influence in the dressing room. No thanks

If their heads are in the right place they could do a good job in the Championship, but I think they would want out and I would look to offload. If the club ends up paying half of Andrew Ayew’s reported £80k per week it would still save the club £2m over the season, which could pay for 4 players at £10k per pop.

Let’s hope Palace come in for Jordan Ayew and Newcastle or some other team come in for his brother. Baston is the one I reckon the club could be stuck with.

Most likely. I reckon he'll end up gone for £18m with a few mill in add ons.

WOL reckon they are competing with Cardiff for Assaombalonga from Boro now though so could be a glimmer of hope, more often that not WOL don't know their ass from elbow though.

We wont replace 20 odd goals a season with a couple of mill.

They've agreed a fee with Bournemouth for Lyn Mousset according to talksport. If true, fair dos to Birch, actions speak louder than words.

10M fee agreed apparently, surely rules them out of McBurnie now?

hopefully the pressure is off us now

Lys Mousset scored 14 goals out of 28 games for Le Havre in the 2015—16 season, since going to Bournemouth he hasn't done so well, but Wilder is said to get the best out of players so he must believe he can with him

yes, well done to not backing down Birch.

i think we can have a real promation go this year with Mcburnie, he could be worth a lot more than £20M to us

Let’s not get too carried away. Both Cooper and McBurnies comments yesterday implied a move was a distinct possibility. Wait until the transfer window shuts.

Agree on Birch though, I wasn’t happy at all when we appointed an insolvency specialist, but he’s been a breath of fresh air. I don’t give the majority owners a lot of credit, but fair play, looks like they’ve made a great appointment.

Sheffield United will surely be off the cards now though with them getting Mousset? Brighton is still a possibility but if the local media down there are to be believed, Potter isn't sure he could make the step up.

Birch is doing things very well, but I’m in no doubt he’s on a massive bonus if he gets the club ready to be sold by the Yanks.

Yeah if they sign another striker, that’s probably the end of Sheff Utd. He got a lot of goals last season, but Potter couldn’t work out how he wanted to play him, so I wouldn’t have thought he’d pay big bucks for him.

It’s certainly a positive, but with Cooper and McBurnie both effectively saying he’s a ‘Swansea player until they hear otherwise’ and Birch admitting we’d consider big offers for our top players, I wouldn’t go buying a McBurnie 9 top just yet.

How do we know any other buyer will be any different/better?

Personally I am not happy with how we are "regressing" as a club but I am yet to be convinced this is purely down to the Yanks.

We are where we are due to inept management since our arrival in the PL. It was always going to be the case that once in the PL our successful model was going to be less effective ,we failed to adapt and our "saviours" got greedy. The Yanks are balancing the books ..the issue is they see us strictly as a business,as fans we see something else, plus of course over the last ten years we have mostly experienced success until the fateful day Monk was appointed full time!
A lot of the blame for the Yank's actions lies with the sellouts....but in time that will diminish as the Yanks rebalance the books but what that will do on the field who knows?

For me in the short term "better the devil we know"....the problem as we all keep saying is that this situation was never supposed to happen given as how "fans" took control of the club following the Silver shiled,9th floor Tony Petty saga/fiasco.....and yet here we are again whilst some individuals are walking around with heavy pockets.

Anyone buying us now in our current state will almost inevitably be worse than the way we have been managed since relegation. We are not an attractive saleable asset. Look how long it took our desperate 'fans' board to find someone - anyone - gullible enough to believe their fairy tales and pony up their cash.

The Yanks have basically 'gone' by the look of it. They have employed Birch to manage the club and, whether it ends up in tears or not, you have to judge by actions, and every move he's made so far has been as sure footed as we could possibly have hoped.

Like them or not (and I don't as it happens), it is in both their and our interest to try and build a sustainable self funding club that can have a tilt at promotion in the future. As always with these things, that might obviously turn to shit, but until there is real evidence that they have other malevolent intentions, we are actually looking to be in relatively decent hands at the moment.
