Could anyone please recommend one to me, I have a problem with my fuse box it keeps tripping out and leaving me without lights.

I was able to switch it back on, but now it will not switch back on at all.

Thanks for any answers in advance

Just the lights tripping or everything ?

If just lights, have you got an outside light on circuit ? Could be water has got in to it. Turn outside light off and see how it goes

Had your oven/cooker been the cause of it tripping?

If you have an outside light and turning it off hasn't helped I would switch on lights one at a time until it trips. Then I'd switch them all off and begin again with the one that tripped it. As dickie says, you may have overloaded the system.

There used to be a shop at the constitution hill end of Rhondda Street. Jeff who ran it is probably long gone now but they were knowledgeable people and may have a contact for you.
Is the off licence still at the top nearest the cost cafe?

I suppose the Tesco in Walter road put paid to local shops.
It's been over 20 years since I lived there. Always felt sorry for locals who had to put up with students

If you have both the time and the desire then follow these steps:
1. Turn off every light switch and socket in the entire house
2. Attempt a reset of the fuse box (let's assume it resets)
3. Turn one light back on
4. Turn lights and sockets back on one by one until one trips out the house again / knocks out the light that you turned on at #3.

This may help determine which socket or light is causing you an issue.

Has there been any work or anything that may have knocked the cables.

I was moving my light and adding CO and smoke alarms in, as my snips are blunt the earth was in contact with either the live or the neutral (the breaker was off) but it tripped the RCD. Maybe an earth fauly

This thread answers the very important question of how many people does it take to change a light bulb. It seems the answer is five.

Not even Sherlock Ohms could solve the mystery of Raynor's light bulb.
