Anyone on here fit or has fitted mains powered smoke alarms?
I had mine since 2003 and I’ve had to disable them as they were going off continuously. I took the pp3 batteries out but still they kept going. Is there a battery/transformer inside these units which acts as the main power supply? Can these be changed or are new alarms the best answer?
Thanks in advance

I suppose that would apply if the cause was because of the dodgy circuit, they couldn't not pay out on an unrelated matter, say if reasonable precautions had been taken

Insurance companies can be a nightmare to deal with and if they can find a way of not paying out especially on big claims they will. There’s not many people who can afford to take them on in the Courts if they won’t pay out.
