Go for it.

I’ve done that once, over a period of 4 weeks. Just over 35k a day. Tough going so wish you good luck.

Takes some doing that fair play!

I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.
Poll: Would you support military action against Syria on what we know so far?

Donations are automatically sent to your chosen charity on a weekly basis. We'll need their permission before we can refund.

If any of your donors would like a refund, contact your charity as soon as possible. If they're happy for us to refund, they should send an email to help@justgiving.com to let us know.

Please be aware that donations that are older than 6 months won't be able to be refunded through JustGiving. The charity will need to refund these directly to the donors for you.

Keep on keeping on, even if you don't reach your target I still want you to keep my donation. Respect due thats a lot of steps!

There is a strong emotional connection with me along with a realisation that sight loss is vastly more common than most people could ever begin to realise. If you work close to (or pass through) an hospital eye dept you'll no doubt have noticed. It seems to be as common like arthritis what with cataracts, glaucoma, shingles retinal necrosis etc, etc, etc.
1 in 3 will get macular degeneration when they hit a certain upper age grouping. Sight is taken for granted, it can be there one day and gone the next.

What greater motivation to donate!

I believe my stride equates to 2,200 steps per mile so at a rough calculation he intends to walk 450 miles in one month or 15 miles a day.

You need to average 32,000 steps a day I'm doing more work days 40,000 plus by walking to and from work and waking up earlier to walk my dog fo 45 minutes in morning

By doing this I'm looking at just 25,000 steps on my rest days

It's a lot, the fact that proper 'rest and recuperation' (of prolonged weight-off-feet periods) will only come after you've finished, further adds an extra challenge on top of your challenge.

Avoiding lifts to gain extra walking distance and even more steps, walking up flights of stairs as part of your job, and stuff like pushing-carrying items, equipment and patients? That would really up the physical challenge and endurance requirement(s) even more again. Cos hospital porters don't tend to walk around empty handed.

Hmm, a million steps divided by 31 days in a month = effing hell!

Congratulations but how are your joints getting on - any pains?

Poll: Who should be our next manager? Please name them.
