Why is that?
We established on a different thread a few weeks ago that the benefit entitlements are a lot less here than in many other European countries, so don’t bother with that one.
I tend to believe that it’s far easier to settle in a country where you speak the language and it’s far more usual I would assume that a refugee from a country such as Syria or Yemen has at least a smattering of English than French, German, Italian or Spanish. Plus global youth culture, disseminated as it is through the internet, tends to be fairly anglo-centric which must make the UK seem attractive (along with the US which is far further away). | | | |

You made a stupid post initially that was based on your usual ignorance. You didn’t realise that Pride pay for policing from their huge budget. Now you’re having to come up with other nonsense about street cleaning - as though that is eating into other public budgets. Which it isn’t either.
Pride is a massive multi million pound corporate event these days. Organisations (Tesco being the main sponsor this year) pay enormous amounts to be associated with it. All costs of the parade are met from the budget. Perhaps if you occasionally attempted to educate yourself rather than making cheap attacks feigning concern? |
