Surely there is now no need to sell 10:09 - Jul 11 with 7785 viewsNotLoyal

With transfer income and getting rid of the greedy fecks, and of course the parachute payments.
It's time to retain not sell and get back to where we belong ?

OK I've changed it.

The average championship club doesn't see 18m straight into the bank account this summer coupled with 1m a month off the wage bill from July 1st.

So many things can be batted back and forth but there is more depth to the situation here at Swansea City, the sale will be priority with the yanks.

The average Championship club isn’t losing £50m of annual income overnight.

Yes, because every penny of income into the club is now effectively 'their own money' if they can think of a way to extract it without paying a dividend or defrauding the minority shareholders. They have provided loans at commercial rates for working capital haven't they? That's also their own money, but probably a preferential secured loan.

New capital or loans to buy players, no. And we should be pretty glad of that.

No dilution yet is a positive.

Thanks for providing a perfect example of how little people understand about the financial realities the club are dealing with.

The question is how would they get the money out ? They can’t pay dividends because the Trust would benefit. I’d hope that the Trust would be on top of any shenanigans like consultancy fees or inter-company loans.

Says the easily accessible figures you dopey herbert.

Our last Premier League annual TV payment = £98m
Our parachute payment (1st year) = £41.6m

No accountant required. The figures are out in the open if you can be arsed to look them up.

We were going to take a hit, that can't be argued with.

The parachute money went before we were even relegated, we are paying that back as we speak. The financial situation arouse from absolute shocking mismanagement and awful football decisions both on and off the field.

There is cutting costs and then there is cutting costs, it is apoarant the yanks are doing the latter but they are doing so with one all eyes on their ultimate goal... Selling the club for at least what they paid for and this is why Birch is on board.

Look at what we have gained thus far, 15 m for James, 3m for Potter, 12m over 12 months for wages lost since July 1st....30million. That is just shy of £570, 000 a week, that pays 30 people an average of nearly 20k a week AND that is without considering other incomes due this coming season.

OK, we will still be paying for players no longer with us but we will still be receiving payments for players also no longer with us.

I dare not state that people don't have a clue about our financial situation, that would be ignorent without seeing the full books, the chances of that is very slim indeed..... I did say FULL books!!

Out of interest, can anyone confirm our average income per match?

Been confirmed by Birch there is no need to sell, that includes Ayews and Baston as James money has eased the need.

Obviously we want the Ayews and Baston gone but even without them gone, we are covered.

Think everyone needs to take the Birch statement on board and some need to adjust what they thought they believed on our situation.

Even if we sell them, we will not pay a fee for new signings.

The yanks have Birch here to sell the club and they don't intend to spend anything.

Wasn’t as explicit as it often sounds in writing but basically said any offer for a player can now be made on footballing principles as opposed to plugging financial gaps.

Clubs main issue is not racked up debt but is operating losses.

They would have been careful not to mention names incase it was seen either as a public rebuke of these players or could be used by agents to claim the club was treating them unfairly.

Quite amazing that they didn’t do any due diligence before “investing” in us and then compounded their mistake by relying on a Chairman who was clearly out of his depth. Then there was the Guidolin/Bradley fiasco. If only they’d listened to their customers.
