Today's second half for me was very poor and we couldn't string 3 passes together. What surprised me about the second half was how poor the passing and movement was. Almost all this players are used to each other either from senior squad or the large group of under 23s.
The back four + Benda got shown up, Fulton, Celina were poor and Routledge, CBC and Cullen not getting into the game.
While many of our younger players could come into the team and make a good contribution, it is obvious that they need careful and phased introduction. |  |

Broadly where I am too, although I'd add a left sided wide man to that list - assuming Montero exits along with the Ayews, Baston & maybe Carroll.
Current squad fully fit is lower mid-table for me, if we add no one else & any of Oli, Grimes or either of Rodon/MvH were to pick up a serious injury that could push us into a bottom 6 battle. | | | |

Would prefer Cabango as CB backup - better footballer and more character.

CF - agree.
I would also look at left back - Bidwell may improve but he looked very much like the player he was for QPR - not a good enough defender nor is Joh and I have reservations about Roberts who, IMO, has been getting rattier not better as time goes on. | |

It's certainly possible considering Harry Wilson got 16 for Derby.
This is a league where loans, frees and youth products emerge to stardom every season. No sense writing off our chances just because we're not going to spend £10m+ on proven 2nd tier "quality". It's a difficult task either way, but that's the challenge of player recruitment, which we used to get right (usually). | | | |
