I’ve got a couple of mates and work colleagues who serve the Coastguard out of Burry Port and I have full admiration for them.
One minute they are sat in the garden reading a book and fifteen minutes later they are out in the estuary and involved in full scale rescue of the public. Not every incident results in a happy ending and the Cefn Sidan sand dune incident of a few years ago hit the group hard.
