Oli McBurnie 10:31 - Jul 27 with 51279 viewsjackharris

There has been talk this morning that a 18 million bid has been accepted from Sheffield United? I wonder how true this is? Is anyone able to shed some light. We will see at 2pm today when the team sheet is published.

Very proud to be voted Planet Swans Poster of the Year 2017 by my fellow posters. Especially on a site that nearly had 20 million impressions last year.

We've got to accept 20 million surely... That's insane money for let's face it, a championship level player

Agree, just a shame as I think he’s massive for the morale of the squad.

We’d definitely need to reinvest part of the sum what with his goals and all.

He’s got a fair point. It’s easy to sell players clubs want to buy. Andre Ayew and co are a bigger challenge.

I think Birch has done well so far though.

I know DJ was a different kettle of worms, but it's a little harsh to say that all Birch has done is sell J Ayew.

That would worry the Yanks they will have to get Birch to persuade him that's it's the right move for him, there going to want that 20 mill for sure.

E20 was the one who constantly had Jenkins back there, think Birch has already proven how much more competent he is.

Another E20 classic to put on the list, pass me another page please

The club is being fleeced, Birch has been brought in by the Yanks because he is pretty good at getting the gullible, a bracket I would put you in by the way, to believe he has the club's best interests at heart, the only time the penny will drop with the gullible among us is when all our best assets are sold, the club will be just trying to hang on to there championship status and the yanks will then say bye bye sell up for peanuts but happy with the profit they will have amassed in fleecing the club a job well done,on there part.

I suggests you read my history of posts, I think you will find the side of the line you have put me at with regards to the yanks.

Birch has most certainly proven to be a far better negotiate than Jenkins, long may it continue but I do have fears on what could happen.

We will have a far better idea on things in 10 days time, it is going to be very interesting indeed.

And if Dyer and Routs had been made available he might never have had a look in except while on loan at Yeovil.

Can count on one hand the number of people on here that rated him 12 months ago.

Yep. I wish as a "Yank" I could argue, but I don't trust these a-holes anymore either.

And if Oli goes, this will infuriate me much more than when they sold off Ashley (granted they lucked into great timing on that one), or Andre Ayew (to West Ham), or Siggy, or Dan James...

If they sell a critical player who very selflessly is willing to earn less money and stay with us, this will be the worst thing they've done to the club yet. And that's a very high bar.

PLEASE prove me wrong, a-holes.

Don't think anyone was saying that about McBurnie given he'd done so well at Barnsley in the Championship in the second half of the previous season.

“If they sell a critical player who very selflessly is willing to earn less money and stay with us,”

Sorry but how do we know that is true?

One thing I don’t think we could blame them for is accepting a bid approaching £20m for McBurnie.

I like him, and I’d like him to stay, but that’s silly money. If they didn’t reinvest at least a chunk of that in a new forward, and very quickly, I would blame them, but that’s a different matter. I’d sell him for that money if I was them.

On an unrelated note, it surely isn’t sensible to post up pictures of clubbing, drinking etc when the season is about to start? It may well be that he’s only drinking in moderation and it’s ok with the club etc, but it doesn’t give a great impression. Why not socialise without putting it all over social media?

Are the squad training today?

Nixon insinuated earlier that Mcburnie is waiting to find out If we have accepted the bid, the guy he’s with at the moment is putting up teasers that he’s staying but I think he’s just enjoying the banter with it all.

He's probably having his farewell piss-up with his local mates

I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

No idea whether they are or not.

Nor what difference it makes.

Of course he’ll wait to see if we accept the bid. If we do, he’ll go and if we don’t, he won’t? That’s the same with all transfers. No one is suggesting he’s agitating to go, but equally there’s no sign that he’s being pushed to go. But how that translates into him being willing to accept less money to stay I don’t know.

Well if he’s not pushing to leave, then he is obviously open to playing for less money for us.

All the signs with this one leads to us pushing for the transfer, as it did with DJ to Leeds, the £1.5m loan deal one.

<<James' agent David Manasseh told The Telegraph: “Swansea made no attempt to keep the player and at the first sign of money they couldn’t show him the door quickly enough. It is very disappointing but the player is philosophical about it.”>>

Birch hasn't done anything yet besides sell Jordan Ayew.

I’ve already said he has a lot to d9 and it’s too early to judge.

But what he has done has shown more competence that we saw in the past few seasons.
