Barry Davies who played for Scarlets and Ospreys had the same nickname, plus "6 months" after he lost half his ear after being knocked down staggering out of the "Riv" one drunken Saturday night.

Haha just remembered this other fella from my old job. Al Al they called him (real name Alan) he used to repeat everything twice :)

He had a bad knee and one of the boys gave him a bottle of grease telling him that it was rubbing lotion. "Smells a bit Al but you'll be ok in no time".

3 hours later...

"How's the knee Al?"

"Great mate great mate, I'll use that again I will, use it again" :)

I think very village or town has an "18 months" when it's repeated for the 1000th time it becomes a bit boring.

There were two collieries near me that had nicknames.

One was called "Next Week" because when miners went there looking for work, the manager would usually say "come back next week"

The other was called "The Boot" because when a new miner started work there, they were given a new pair of boots.

Never knew what their real names were.

A lad in school went to the local Y.M.C.A for Judo classes to toughen up, he went once.
After that became known as "Kung Fu ".
25/30 years later at a funeral i thought i recognised a young man who's face seemed familiar, i asked my cousin if he knew him and he said, "thats little Kung Fu, Kung Fu's boy".
Now i know you are not suppose to laugh at a funeral but.........

Dai cul de sac, similar to Dai 30 mile an hour... he lived in a house with a thirty mile an hour sign on the pavement outside his house. When anyone asked him where he lived, he'd explain and always end with...'it's the house with a thirty mile an hour sign outside'.
