WOL reporting Huesca and Rayo Vellacano are interested in him, think they are following a few other reports that are on twitter about him possibly leaving.

Can't stop teams enquiring they won't be able to afford his full wage.
Or much of a fee he has to stay.

I can't see him leaving now surely, being left with one official striker in the team ?

think it's probably a matter of he will go if they make a decent offer. i think they are less likely to give him away for free than they were a month ago. hard to imagine 2nd tier spanish clubs could pay his wages either.

If as posted on here that he took a 50% pay cut, it depends what else was in the agreement for him

If Mr Birch gets any kind of offer he's off, just like every other player he's had an offer for.

His challenge is to get an offer for the player that no one wants.

50% pay cut is still more than we were subbing his wages for over the last two seasons.
By all accounts he was on something like €124,000 a month (minimum wage in La Liga).
So that comes down to €62,000 a month if he's accepting 50% of last year's wages

The monthly minimum wage in the second tier works out at €3,335. I can not see any Second tier club paying 20 X minimum wage.

Very proud to be voted Planet Swans Poster of the Year 2017 by my fellow posters. Especially on a site that nearly had 20 million impressions last year.

If he is on 15k a week we should keep him. If we have any ambition.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Told Borja Baston is currently focused on Swansea and there's nothing imminent, but reports in Spain suggest he's a target for two clubs #Swans

If he’s paying the Swans about £20,000 a week just so he can play for us (assuming his contract pays £40,000 per week), I can’t see him wanting to go and play for anyone else.

He was on 50k
Rumour that he’s taken half a cut with bonuses.
Regardless, the average way may be 3k but the likes of Rodon and Roberts were given more than treble that.

£38,000

But I'm sure I read €33,000 somewhere.

Various other figures when he signed for us - £45 / £50 / £60,000 a week.

Whatever - even 50% of €33,000 or £50,000 is way over what a second tier Spanish club would / could afford.

Yeap have a good season with us, possibly get a decent transfer when he's free to talk to European clubs from January, and a nice sign on fee in June for him when he's out of contract, he won't be leaving unless we have a U turn and tell him to go.

I think that's the crux of the matter.
We were paying a 1/3 for the last two years but I doubt Birch would go down that route again as the economics don't make sense for Swansea.
I think La Liga 2 isn't far off Championship pay - there is a legal minimum which is around €120,000 pa. but I a top La Liga 2 side will be paying up €2 million for their better players.

Personally I'd expect the wages in La Liga 2 to be lower than the Championship seeing that the wages in the bottom half of La Liga are considerably lower than the bottom half of the PL. Not that it matters, his wages aren't affordable to anyone in the Championship in any case!

I was surprised how much some La Liga2 players are paid.
Malaga, Vellecano amo Girona have some players on €25-30,000 a week I would imagine Baston would expect near the top of that scale
The average, I think, is much lower.
