Ferrie Bodde - back in Swansea. 09:28 - Aug 24 with 3379 viewsjacks777

Just had a quick chat with him. Very interesting what he has to say regarding SCFC.

I genuinely believe the club went the extra mile for the guy.

OK I've changed it.

For sure.

Hope this doesn’t turn into a 9 pager as ex Swans player steps foot in Swansea.

Exactly the type of player we could do with now.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Depends if he buys a fifty pint round or not.

He took to the field for Tate's belated testimonial - could barely walk.
We really did go the extra mile for him especially as he was looking to move.
Enjoyed him as a player and he'll always welcome in Swansea.

He was walking well today. He apparently is a guest speaker at tomorrow’s match.
He was buying a shirt in MODA this morning.

In my top 5 players I've ever seen in a Swans shirt:

1. Michu
2. Alan Curtis
3. Ferrie Bodde
4. Ivor Allchurch
5. Lee Trundle

Not easy, is it? I'd have any one of yours in there too, plus Roger Freestone.

Never played in the premier league but no doubt he’d have taken to that level like a duck to water. A pleasure to watch.

Indeed, Seb Larsson wasn’t it? Totally needless tackle if I remember correctly, Ferre was shepherding an overhit through-ball out for a GK when he was absolutely clattered as the ball crossed the byline. No foul given.

Did Birmingham go up that year? They had a good team if I remember correctly.

If Bodde had stayed fit and not had to retire through dreadful injury he'd have been destined for the premier League either with us or someone else.
More talent than Shelvey, Ki, Carroll and Cork put together.

I remember hammering them at home and losing to Kevin Phllips!

He's the best all round player I've seen in a Swansea shirt, creative, brave, strong and had a shot on him too. He'd have eventually gone on to play for a top 6 club had he played in the prem with us. Such a shame for a player with his talent to not go on and make the millions that far lesser players earn in a single season now.

One of my best ever moments as a Swans fan was being behind that goal in Preston where he scored that screamer on a Tuesday night .....one random trip I decided to make with my mates which I’ll never regret !! 💪💪💪

As I was also behind the goal at Deepdale with 10,000 Jacks on 2nd May 1981 it really is one of the happiest places for me in football after the Vetch/Liberty 😁😁😁

Really unlucky & just one of those things, no blame on the Birmingham player
