Agreed. I haven’t followed what’s been happening at these clubs, but when you look back at owners some of clubs who have previously been in a bit of bother have had it’s astounding. How the Premier League and EFL have sanctioned some of the purchases and how these people have passed the fit and proper test it’s shocking. We need much tighter ownership rules, such as the ones Germany has.

As callous as it sounds, redundancy or the threat has been part of British life since the 70’s. What’s worse is having to start a football club from zero which has played in Europe through the minor northern leagues. Awful for everyone connected with BWFC.

The whole of football should be weeping over this. Taxing the ridiculous transfer fees and wages of the premier league with a small levy and legislating for community assets with consequent local safeguards and fan ownership could stop all this shit in a heartbeat.

I think Bury were so confident of surviving they started ticket sales for Saturday’s game.

Awful for fans of both.

Bury - first and only time myself, Mrs MJ and Junior MJ were all on the pitch together post match.

Doesn’t bear thinking about (again, having been through this in the 80s with us)
