I get the feeling the guy who wrote that probably saw the Leeds game, then backwrote his article, semi-implying he’d been watching us all season.
We definitely set out to do a job on Leeds and didn’t really open up until the last half hour when their energetic pressing game was taking its toll on them. If we’d gone up there and thrown caution to the wind, they probably would have beat us comfortably. I don’t think he’d be announcing the death of our passing game if he’d watched us all season, second halves against Preston and Birmingham in particular.
If he’d said that three or four years ago, he’d have had a point. Odd time to say it when it’s being slowly but surely re-established. | | | |
