Odd that there didn’t seem to be the third option on the poll. That is Northern Ireland as it’s own independent nation.
By the logic of Brexit this is the perfect solution, as it pleases almost nobody in equal measure!
Let’s be honest here. Brexit has pretty much confirmed the future break up of the UK. Scotland within 10 years, NI within 20, and most likely Wales will follow suit within 30! The momentum will snowball and there will be no stopping it. Like it or lump it, I see it as almost inevitable now. |  | | |

That has been a school of thought that has resurfaced time and again in Ulster since the early ‘20s, mate. It has never gained a mass audience despite sporadically standing slates of candidates and advancing two not entirely unreasonable propositions: firstly that neither the governments in the south or on the mainland were to be entirely trusted and, secondly, that folk in Ulster of whatever religious persuasion had far more in common with one another than with anybody else.
Given the cyclical nature of politics it’s a baton waiting to be picked up again. |  |

Not forgetting that 1/3 of Ulsters 9 counties have already been Gerrymandered out of the UK.
