James and macbernie 08:53 - Sep 22 with 1281 views | Nortbankboy | James has made a good start at utd. Macbeth is not doing so well and a lot of blades fans think he's a waste of moey. Yet we had more money for macbernie. Was James undervalued? Or Mabenrie overvalued?

James and macbernie on 09:28 - Sep 22 with 1152 views | Whiterockin | James we had a good price as he has loads of potential. McBurnie, we mugged them. Never a premier league forward. He made 16 premier league appearances for us (granted mostly off the bench) and scored no goals. Sheffield United 6 appearances and 1 goal.
James and macbernie on 09:43 - Sep 22 with 1097 views | TimTtam | I swear he spells McBurnie's name wrong on purpose. Perhaps my theory about him being a certain former member is correct after all... 15M for James was fair, considering he was out of contract next season. He's already looking like one of United's better players, and is a natural PL player. He'll have a great career. 20M for McBurnie was crazy money. He's one of those players who is an above average Championship player, but below average in the PL. Similar to what Tammy used to be like (until this season). If Sheffield United stay up, McBurnie may have to look for a new team back in the Championship. And if we don't get promoted, and Borja leaves, he would be a great fit to come back where he belongs. EDIT - Sh*t I just realised he called him Macbeth, ffs.

James and macbernie on 09:51 - Sep 22 with 1063 views | hobo | As said at the time, James was massively undervalued. You had one of the World's biggest club in Man Utd, a club that overpays for players, chasing after his signature. We paid more for Borja who was also in the last year of his contract

Wewere in the Premier League then with money t throw away. Which is what the ormer chairman did with consumate ease. When you're a Championship club with well publicised income shortfall due to that money being p*ssed up against a wall (and the player being offered more money than he can dream of) then it's a difficult negotiating position. I think Birch did as well as he could have.

Last time I checked, Man Utd are also in the PL with money to throw away. On to your 2nd point, and Hull were a Championship Club with a shortfall following relegation to the Championship. Yet we still paid £15m for a player who has shown nothing during his career

Regarding the purchase of Sam Clucas refer to my first paragraph of my previous post regarding the idiot former chairman. Man Utd's chairman is nowhere near as idiotic.
