Disallowed Goal v Charlton 16:09 - Oct 3 with 3260 viewsunion_jack

Haven’t seen it mentioned on here though I may have missed it.

Watching the game last night they said it was off-side. Having now seen the extended highlights the Swans TV comms said it was ball went out.

Anyone at the game get a proper view of this?

It was because the ball went out, but on SwansTV it did look like the ball had stayed in, albeit from a hard camera angle to tell from.

Was not disallowed for offside as the referee awarded a goal kick. The linesman was standing behind corner flag with his flag raised. He did not lower to the horizontal to indicate offside. From the stands was impossible to tell if it was out or not. Even the linesman view was blocked as Fulton was between him and the ball. Hard tell correct decision without sky's 12 cameras.

One of the Charlton fans in their message board said he didn't think it went out and we were robbed. Don't know where he was in the ground of course but he may have had a better view than any of the cameras, who knows?

But another one said that they should have had a penalty. No idea why. We got a deserved win anyway.

Didn't look anywhere near out from the highlights, but the camera angle admittedly wasn't perfect.

That's exactly what I meant about the Charlton fan possibly having a better view than any of the cameras when he said it didn't go out. His seat may be inline with the goal line.

Nowhere near out. Another shocker against us which is masked due to the final result.

BTW, It's 5.50 not 15.50, it's only a 10 minute vid!

The ricochet off the post hits Fulton on the back of his left thigh when both his legs are clearly still on the pitch then drops down and lands well inside the line before Fulton plays it back to Ayew. Hard to tell whether or not the ball had travelled from more than a foot inside the line to a foot outside the line in such a short space of time but it seems unlikely and might be stretching the laws of physics a bit! Plus with Fulton standing on the line, there is no way the lino on the far side could have even seen enough of the ball to be 100% sure it had all completely crossed the line so he must have guessed.

Without a different camera angle, it's still inconclusive at best I guess.

Lots of people at the game thought the ball wasn't out, both Swansea amd Charlton fans.

You saw the title of this thread, it's not ambiguous, so why read any of it and even bother to post on the thread ffs?? That reminds me of a time I put a question on Amazon to see if anyone knew if my old Bosch lawnmower batteries were compatible with the new model and 2 people replied, "Sorry, I have no idea" Why?

An extra 1 goal difference at the end of the season could crucial ... just saying.

But if we’d scored then none of the rest would have existed. We might even have not won.

Yes indeed. It may have been a blessing in disguise.

On the other hand...

Who knows?

It looked ok from the camera angle but that may have been a touch deceiving.
