Should always be red. People need to stop hijacking it for other needs. |
Just looked at the British Legion site and all the poppies I saw there were red. However, there is nothing stopping people having a red poppy with the symbol they are most proud of attached. Like the poppy and the Swans badge.

I juts drove past Tonia Antoniazzi’s constituency office in Gorseinon. She has three giant poppies (red, obvs) on display on the outside of the building.

It was started by Madame Guérin. First used in America, France, Canada and it was she, later, who introduced the idea to the British Legion in 1921. In fact, she paid for the poppies and was reimbursed from the 1st British poppy drive.
