There wasn't another option besides leave on the ballot and we were told a deal would be done. Not just would be done but would be easy, again we trusted politicians but not many do anymore. |

Apparently, according to Rod Liddle in today's Sun nearly 40% of people who voted for Labour in Yorkshire will not do so this time around. That is an absolutely staggering figure.
That is what happens when working class voters are branded Nazi, thick, racist, fascist, far-right and uneducated by affluent white collar middle class Labour snob types.

This is one of the most dangerous arguments I've heard. If, as is distinctly possible, a Tory-majority parliament leads the UK to economic disaster, it would be naive to assume that that would lead to a socialist government on the rebound. Far more likely is a descent into outright fascism. There's nothing so unique about the Weimar Republic that can't be repeated here.
This is the most important election in all of our lifetimes. Avoiding a majority Johnson-led government should be the priority of every person concerned about the direction of travel we've embarked on with the snake-oil merchant Tories. |

Now that's the part so many people don't get. You can disagree with the result of any vote but you can't ignore it, ride roughshod over it or subvert it, once you do then democracy is damaged.
Ignore or subvert one vote and what's to stop it happening again, you can't pick and choose. The answer isn't to keep having votes until we choose the way the politico's want either. |

I know loads of leave supporters and out meant out, most people pay lip service to politicians and don't watch political programmes or read political articles in newspapers etc, they wanted out, two world wars against the Germans mind you and as regards the French, the French and English have always been at each others throat for centuries, the people voted out and unless there is a no deal Brexit the will of the people will not have been done. |

Although as I have said I think the middles classes with a social conscience vote Labour, that might be more of the case in England because in Wales and Scotland I would expect the middle classes with a social conscience to vote Plaid and SNP.
