Justification? Why would a justification be needed? BoJo attends, doesn't attend, means nothing at the end of the day. Those interviews won't materially change the election.
Do I think Neil should have done that? Up to him and BBC. I don't think it's increased the chances of an interview but if one occurs then I've little doubt prep work will be going on as we speak based upon the questions mentioned - and then others will complain of the questions being given out beforehand.

I don't think he has the ability to answer those questions, even with a heads up. Neil will still thrash him, as he has the others. His opening remarks will knock Johnson for six and it will be one way traffic from there.

You're probably right.
So it's therefore not in Johnson's interest to do it. It won't damage his polling by not doing it.

That’s the first time in this election campaign that the BBC hasn’t acted as a cheerleader for the incumbent government. They’ll probably be punished for that after the election.

About bloody time as well.
They should play that few minutes every night on BBC 1 at 7pm until next Thursday.
He didn’t have time for Andrew Neil. Did have time for Good Morning Britain or whatever it’s called. And Peston. And presumably being interviewed by Peppa Pig on CBeebies if they ask.

Superb. Andrew Neil get hammered regulalrly for being biased, but hopefully that shows that although a Tory, funded by the major backers of Tories, and spreading Tory messaging in his Spectator role, he's also perfectly able and willing to hold the Tories to account.
Can't be forced by the Supreme court, ha!

It thought that was excellent from Andrew Neill, puts things in context when he said Noris is the only leader that’s failed/declined/refused to attend in 50 years. That clip should be compulsory viewing and be circulated widely on the net.

It’s a double whammy for Johnson now if he agrees. He’ll look like a c*nt because he’s only doing it because he’s been shamed into it and when he does it he’ll look like a c*nt because he always does when faced with any serious scrutiny.

He won't go on. He'll just brazen it out. It's less dangerous than actually having him try to answer any tough questions. he could bring the whole house of cards down. It needs to be repeated, again and again and again.
Neil is a Tory through and through. Would be interesting to see whether he’d be prepared to lay his reputation on the line by not going for Boris’ jugular. Should be a tap in of course but “spectators” expecting carnage may be disappointed.
