Very proud to be voted Planet Swans Poster of the Year 2017 by my fellow posters. Especially on a site that nearly had 20 million impressions last year.

This.

I've given Cooper a lot of the benefit of the doubt, because it's not easy building a team with some of the materials he's got, but the lack of ambition, purpose and drive during big chunks of that second half was inexcusable, and the buck for that stops with him.

You can lack quality and still look interested.

Somehow they managed to suck the joy out of a victory.

Really? On the results of what I’ve seen, Baldricks cunning plan might be more effective then. Teams kill us on the break, normally when one of our dogs hit midfield players gives them the ball.

That was dire against a really abysmal team. I remember when Cooper was appointed, him saying that he wanted to play the Swansea Way with positive attacking football. I think he’s a bigger bs merchant than the Yanks.
It’s clear that Andre is carrying this team but it’s equally clear that he’s playing for a move in January. There’s an understanding with Cooper that he will give his all if they don’t stand in his way, and today Cooper announced the media today that he’s expecting ‘interest’ in Andre in January. If he’s gone in January, we could struggle to get points from the.
I’m really worried that most of this squad have gone backwards since Cooper took over, and this with a coach who is supposed to be a specialist in coaching young players. The product is awful and attendances are falling away. I’m not at all sure how it’s fixed.

"Yossarian- the very sight of the name made him shudder. There were so many esses in it. It just had to be subversive" (Catch 22)

People will accept losing if they can see that the team has given everything. That no drop of sweat or desire has been spared in an effort to win. People will get pissed off, even if you win, if they think players are holding back.

At 1-1 and even 2-1 against a f*cking awful team missing a player I'd have expected us to be driving forward to try and put them to the sword, to try and make up for some of the goals we shipped last week at WBA. Instead we got a tentative, cowardly display where the aim of the game seemed to be shirking any kind of responsibility to make things happen.

At this point I'm expecting Cooper to whip off his mask, Scooby Doo style to reveal that he's been Paul Clement all along.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I was shot down a couple of weeks ago saying I would have preferred Cameron Toshack as our manager. I've not changed my mind since the start of the season.

Probably not an awful lot between them.

I'm not in the Cooper out camp (yet) but he needs to buck his ideas up. Yes, he's not helped by having a piss weak midfield, but some of his other choices are just plain weird. Roberts should not be starting ahead of Naughton. We're stocked with wingers but usually play narrow. The team looks shapeless and lacking in organisational drilling.

Inexperience perhaps, but the learning curve is steep and he needs to be climbing it quicker than he is.

I agree sort of, but the team seems to have gone backwards since the start of the season. I appreciate confidence isn't at its peak, but it showed signs of returning at the Fulham game. We won today, but i had more of a skip in my step after losing that game rather than winning today.

Every penny's a prisoner at our club, so why didn't they promote Cameron and his team who have brought a lot of these kids to the first team and hired Cooper as U23 coach to give him experience. I feel Cameron is a big big loss to us personally.

I haven’t been to many home games this year but I was told by a few of the lads that it’s clear Roberts is on a big strop. Doesn’t acknowledge fans before or after games and is constantly on people’s backs.

To be honest I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see him go in January.

Not the kid I've seen then. He gives the clao before the game like they all do. At the end he trots off etc. To be fair there didn't seem to be the chemistry between him and Ayew...almost like they fvcking hate each other....but wether something's been said but the last couple of home games they seem to be getting better.

Maybe it's the case of young bull old bull sort of thing lol.

People all around me (myself included) were moaning and groaning at our lack of ambition, our willingness to go backwards even with the oppo down to 9 men. Celina, I can see why he was dropped before, he holds the ball too long and makes bad decisions, he has gone backwards under Cooper, a long way backwards.

How can a team win 3-1 and still draw such a negayive reaction? Only Ayew and Woodman get much credit, Cabango and VdH were ok but really, after the second sending off we should have been looking to muller them and instead we settled for it, if you'd walked in with 10 minutes left you might not have realised Boro had a player sent off.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Look at the subs!
Hardly inspiring especially as he put a wing in midfield (McKay) and a central attacking midfielder (Celina) on the wing.
And, there was a lot of moans on the half time whistle.

Can't help thinking Coops complaining bout the ref after Weds just may have had a little effect.

Allright lets try again.

On YouTube we can watch the last time we beat Boro with James, Dyer, Routs up front carving chance after chance and a 3 1 win.

We have see Peterson subbed at half time and dropped for next game. Ayew on the wing holds the ball and is a cut above so he gets that slot but he should be playkng as a striker in my opinion.

We have lost too many games and are playing narrow with Celina appearing to have lost some form.

That was a tough game but a good result especially after being pegged back and again by coughing up possession when passing sideways.

Hopefully it will get better though clearly we willmiss Ayew when he leaves.

I wasn't aware we lost the game. The large majority of posts support that argument.

We were clearly low on confidence, needing a win, and got a 3-1 home win. It seemed the directive was to be conservative and just win ugly.

Yes Ayew will be gone in January, but ffs we're not in a relegation battle. He'll be around for a little while longer anyway.

We're 1 point off the playoffs, and 3 points off 3rd place.

Lets hope that a win creates confidence in the squad and we can start being more attacking.

18 points in the last 16 games would be a relegation battle had we not been as fortunate as we were in August to pick up the points we did. The performances didn't merit taking nearly half our current points total in that month alone, but at least survival is within comfortable reach.

"but at least survival is within comfortable reach. "
But not so comfortable if the players continue to go backwards as quickly as they have since the start of the season.
Once Ayew goes it could get very ugly as it did under Monk, Bradley and Clement.
If players down tools it will be all over unless a Manager is appointed.

I have said it before Cooper may be a decent coach, although it doesn't look like it, but he is a poor manager.
I don't think Coaches should necessarily be Managers as the requirements are diffferent.

Another 4 wins in the next 24 games would probably see us safe to be honest. There's a lot of struggling sides this season, we're not going to need 50+ points.

We have 4 points more than this time last year one point off the playoffs even this time last people on here were calling for Potters head...he too was constantly tinkering with the team the threads exist on here to prove it.
I am not saying that I don’t have concerns about Cooper but the recent run of poor results we have just had is not that much different to the run we ecncountered last year through November and December. Cooper is still learning last year I posted that Potters selections could be influenced by cost such as not playing Routs which was true as Routs renegotiated his contract allowing Potter to pick him. I have a theory Surridge is getting game over Borja due to Bournemouth maybe threatening to take Sam back due to lack of game time plus maybe Borjas goal bonus is costing us too much money.
So let’s sack Cooper and his staff shell out more compensation we can’t afford so there are even less funds to use in January. As I said this time last year many wanted to see Potter off but look how that ended up we lost him to a PL club with them paying us some money the first time since Brendan so let’s back off and be realistic

I’m not advocating sacking Cooper but I don’t think comparisons with Potter are helpful to him.

Potter had to pick up the pieces after relegation and blood most of the current team. He needed to have a good look at everyone in the squad and give them a chance to impress before he settled on a consistent selection. There is an argument that he took too long to do this but he did explain it at some length at the time.

Players improved out of all recognition during the second half of the season under Potter. Under Cooper most of them are going backwards even though they have last season’s experience behind them. They should be kicking on now. Maybe they understood their roles and how that fitted into the team philosophy last season. Maybe they don’t understand what’s being asked of them now?

Potter had James and McBurnie but Cooper has Ayew and Baston and a team that have been together for a while. There’s no question who is the better manager.

Cooper may be to blame for many things but I don't see how we can honestly blame him for the fact that players can't seem to make the simplest of passes to each other. In the last few games, we've seen the ball given away by VdH, Peterson, Grimes, Byers and Celina, and they've all led to goals. Sometimes, it's the fact that they've chosen a difficult option because a simple 10yard pass isn't available - that's got everything to do with players not showing for the ball and making angles. Where's Leon when you need him?

One thing that's definitely got worse since the start of the season is our defending at set pieces. VdH has been caught in no-man's land many times, and others have been more focussed on manhandling their man and not even looking at the ball.
