During the match, each team had opportunities to score, but the only goal of the game was credited to Cardiff's Hughie Ferguson after the ball slipped out of the hands of Arsenal goalkeeper Dan Lewis, who knocked the ball into the net with his elbow. Lewis later blamed his new woollen jersey, saying that it was greasy.

To be fair you still do now, just secretly. You lot talk about 1927 more than any folk ive ever known. It rarely gets a mention when I see other bluebirds, I guess football isn’t that important whereas it’s all you’ve got, I mean had. Still, never been done before and no doubt never again until we rise again. You can keep your noddy cup, foregotten already in less than 10 years never mind 100.😂
