South Africa v England 11:16 - Dec 26 with 11934 views | exiledclaseboy | First test now. Saffers 97/4 just after lunch. England won the toss. Sam Curran does have a welcome habit of taking wickets in the first over of a spell. Done it twice today.

South Africa will close this out with only 6 wickets (or less) down... 👠#bookmark

You’d get long odds on that, chuck a fiver on it if you’re that confident. They’d have to score 312 on the final day. Not out of the question but a hugely tough ask. England by about 80 is my guess.

South Africa v England on 19:53 - Jan 6 with 1226 views | lifelong | It’s a shame that late South African wicket fell, otherwise it would have been a very interesting day tomorrow, England massive favourites now.

Hope your right mate. First hour crucial. Anderson can make the ball sing early doors, just got to hit his length and line. Broad, with momentum can take them out on his own. Here's hoping

New ball in about 20 overs decides the game I reckon.

Quick 3 over each blast from A&B to test the water then wait for the new ball if that fails then. Interesting day ahead

South Africa v England on 20:26 - Jan 6 with 1170 views | theloneranger | SA commentators hammering Root for using Stokes as the 7th bowler, and think he's a dithering captain. The SA captain took some stick for not taking the new ball when it became available this morning. Jimmy Anderson taking that wicket in the last but one over could be massive.

Batting without any problems, a few overs before lunch and the new ball imminent de Plessis swept Bess to square leg. England's heads were really down going into lunch after only getting the night watchman out. SA commentators were really p1ssed off 😂, but SA have batted really well since lunch. SA 248 all out. 8.2 overs left. England won by 189 runs Ben Stokes once again, great bowling ... But some of SA's batting losing 11/5, made me think that Hanse Cronje was alive and well. 😎 EDIT ... Thank fvck for 5 day Test Cricket. 😂 [Post edited 7 Jan 2020 15:33]

I've never liked Stokes outside cricket, but as a sportsman and competitor there's not much better in cricket. I think there's a lot more if England use him properly as an all rounder, and not as the 7th bowler. Today he did something I've never seen in sport before. When called up to receive the "Man of the Match Award", he said he was refusing it because he believed the true man of the match was Dom Sibley for his maiden Test century and what it meant in the game. This hurts 😂😂 ... Well done Ben Stokes.

Yeah this wasn’t a great time (for the ICC) for test cricket to throw up a five day classic that ended with 12 overs to spare. Good for us fans of the five day format though.

Definitely. Where did the 4 day discussion originate from? What's the basis for change. I've got to say it but for the last few years watching England, most of the matches they've been involved in have been very watchable.

It’s an ICC proposal to “streamline” the fixture calendar. It’s not a bad shout in some series and fewer and fewer games are going five days. But it’s shouldn’t be the standard.
