What a horrible looking place when you drive past it.
There was a big grass open space square in the middle where you could see the other buildings around like the hall and tower but they have just stuck an awful looking building on it.

I am aware of the saying there are lies damned lies and statistics and I have no wish to get into prolonged discussions on the merits or otherwise of EU membership /Funding etc etc.
But That map showing the richest/ poorest regions of northern Europe is not much of and advert for our continued EU membership .
We have one of the top ten richest areas in Europe (Germany have 3, Brussels is one also -quelle surprise! amazing what riches Stella and chocolate production produce) . Inner London might well be further down the rich list if not for Russian and Middle East investment . We also have 9 of the poorest ten areas in Northern Europe and this after more than 40 years of paying into le club. |

The absence of funding from the EU will widen the gap unless the UK government changes its entire philosophy.

Very unfair, but entirely the fault of UK govts.
The EU has been trying to help out the poorest areas - like parts of Wales ! |
We are/were the 3rd largest contributor financially and have been for years.9 out of 10 of the poorest areas are in GB.
Your EU can't be doing such a great job can they .Its not as if they haven't had the time.

If you are quoting UN definitions then France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands Austria Luxembourg are in Western Europe not Northern Europe as claimed in the map.

This isnt true. More people voted for remain parties than for Brexit parties. Due to the first past the post system the Tory party got in as the pro Brexit vote was split. The actual figures show over 52% voted for remain parties.

It's not that simple. There may have been plenty of pro-Brexit Labour voters who still voted Labour, or pro-Remain Conservative voters who still voted Conservative. I'd certainly believe that many pro-Remain Tories still voted for Johnson rather than switching to Corbyn. |  |
