He went through a horrendous time losing his daughter in a car accident, and his wife to cancer within a year of each other a while back. How someone gets through something like that is beyond me.
Apart from being a great drummer, he was an amazing lyricist.

RIP The Professor
He almost gave in back then I think. He’s overcome some incredible things.
Class act.
‘……. like a moth to Itchy’s flame ……’
He got on his bike and rode it around the US and Central America for some time.
His book Ghost Rider is about that journey and coming to terms with what had happened. Not read it myself though.
I have that book. It’s very long and does at times go off on tangents but at the same time it’s a book about hope. He really went through the mill. Shocked and saddened.
Saw them both nights at Wembley arena on that tour (R30). Massive shame the R40 tour didn’t make it to this side of the Atlantic ðŸ™
One of my biggest regrets is not seeing them live. I nearly went on the last tour but it dawned on me I was due to go on holiday the very same week they hit the UK :(
