My daughter had an interview in the University today so I walked into town. Not been in the centre for a few years and must admit was pleasantly surprised-clear improvements over the last couple of years. Had a breakfast in the Kardomah for nostalgic reasons-not changed from when my grandmother took more there in the 70s. The Market is still a gem. All rounded off with a Joe's ice cream with my daughter. Wish I could say something profound-had a nice chat about the vetch with a lady in one of the bakeries. Easy to forget how much the Swans mean to the town

The Kardomah is fantastic. I popped in there last year for the first time in over 25 years.
Great staff.

We don’t really notice it living here, all I ever hear is aggravation about the Kingsway (which I can understand).

Nice to see someone who hasn’t been here for a few years cast a fresh eye over the place and give it a positive report.

A positive thread about our great city...we should have it stuffed.

Different Darran. Swansea is a small city with few grand buildings. Although both took a hammering from the Luftwaffe, Liverpool's waterfront and St George's etc. were largely unscathed.

What they both have is a unique character. Swansea is really a city more like the rest of South Wales and people to match. Whilst I like Cardiff, it is very different from its hinterlands.

Was cleaner and less scruffy than I remember. Still too many empty shops but that is a curse everywhere.

Talk of the Luftwaffe reminds me that the Palace theatre was left unscathed. Remarkable and great to hear it's being saved.
Flats I think and a "community space". The history of "our town" is fascinating.

You can see similarities between Swansea, Plymouth and Liverpool with the 1950s rebuilding. A lot of those have been replaced in Liverpool in recent years. I remember going to Plymouth in the 1980s and was eerily similar to the Kingsway

Southampton is too flat.

Ever since my son was... never conceived, because I've never had consensual sex without money involved... I've always kind of looked at you as... a thing, that I could live next to... in accordance with state laws.

The last time I was in Southampton was August 29th 1981. We left the hotel and travelled back to Swansea. Terrible timing for a holiday. That was the day of our first game of the season, Swansea 5- 1 Leeds. I tried to get some radio coverage all the way back. No luck. Mrs. Mute said we’d lose anyway. 😁
Just remembered, I’ve been there since then,2003, took my son up to the Uni for an open day. He chose Warwick.

Too flat for what, walking up hills?

Very strange reason to slag a city off.

I saw a new Greek restaurant on the Kingsway, as well as the greenery on Kingsway now being implemented since the Bay deal. The bridge from town to LC2 is going also. Great to see improvements!

Kingsway is starting to look very good , all they need to do now is lower the rent and start filling the buildings .

They’ll be digging the Kingsway up within two years, the road lanes are too narrow. You heard it here first. It’s what Town Planning dept does in Swansea

They will be digging up the temporary tarmac first I think. Those tarmac paths look scruffy.

Thank you, goodnight and bollocks
