Do you think the club will just iron a stick on logo on the shirt like they did in the early days of the 1996-97 season when Ericsson took over from Compaq?

Yes, vomit inducing. Or as some comedy character would have it " what a load of old schitt"

Surely it would have been easier to strike a deal with Panda Pop and just add the word Pop to Royal Panda.

Never knowingly right.

Not every post is completely serious, rsonist.

Anyway, hopefully next season we can move away from betting sponsors.

Bare bones.

While I accept our somewhat impecunious position means we can’t be too choosy, nonetheless there’s something decidedly tawdry about a betting company as a sponsor.

Isn't this just exactly the same deal with the same company, only they are using another of their brands because Royal Panda is not being used as a front in the UK anymore?

Its the same partner with a different brand name . The contract is probably with the group so unless they want more exposure no more extra cash .

its only til the end of the season , they are probably working on next year now .

Edit .. as I typed that it occurred to me that this brand change to BetUK is timed to align with Brexit . Maybe they think the UK bit will resonate ? .... with 52% anyhow .

There is obviously a growing tide of opinion against betting companies sponsoring sports teams good grief even the anonymous Minister of Sport is making noises about it. Heaven forbid him actually doing something.

Nevertheless while we are coming towards the end of current sponsorship, and ten of the 20 Premier League clubs have gambling shirt sponsors, and 17 out of 24 Championship teams, unlike some voices I'm not going to get too upset.

Let's see who next seasons sponsors are going to be. if that should turn out to be a gambling company then I will be upset.
