Rest In Peace 'Gwil Llew' 01:17 - Jan 30 with 11408 viewsTNT

At the request of Gwilym Llewelyn Williams' family:

Sadly, Gwil Llew passed away earlier. A huge Swans fan of almost 50 years.

Many of you may have read his post on here, not long ago, saying that he'd survived a heart attack whilst watching Wales at the cardiff city stadium. A huge fan of The Wales team, as well as of his beloved Swans.

He posted on here as 'Giantstoneater'

A loyal friend, football fan, and father of two great kids.

Rest In Peace, Gwil… You'll be so missed, You Jack Bastard.

Nos da, wus.

Found it! Apologies.

A photo of Gwil Llew will appear in the WBA programme.

Ironically, one of his all time favourite games was the comeback at WBA, some years ago, with one of his favourite players Steve Thornber playing a prominent part.

I'm sure he will have already had a few beers with Alan Davies 👍

OK I've changed it.

Don't know if someone can get the photo onto here, from last Saturday's programme? Be much appreciated.

Gwil's family is looking for a good home for his football programme collection. To be collected from Llanelli area if you are interested, or know of anyone who would like to have them.

I don't go on any Wales football forums, but there'll be a lot of international programmes in Gwil's collection, if anyone can put a message out there. cheers.

Not the greatest at that sort of stuff mate. I did post a photo not long ago with about ten of us in. When I found the thread, 'Tinypic' or whatever it was called had disappeared and so had the photo with it. I'm sure Nigel Drean has a photo, which could be put here. I met Nigel at Aldershot away, back in the day, he was handing out slips of paper inviting Swans fans living in London to a meet, I think in Covent Garden (may have been The Swan or The Chandos). I was waiting for my brother, travelling from London, to meet me on the away terrace. I took a slip of paper, and the rest is history. Met a great bunch of lads thereafter, and their families, who have become great friends, one of which was Gwil.

I was there that day. It was The Swan in Covent Garden then The Chandos
Used to be 40-50 of us there some nights.

May I ask if this was the chap who was based in Portsmouth in the Navy and went to away games in the 80's from there in the lower leagues? I caught up with him at the Millwall home game (if its him? ) remising past decades. He had a walking stick.

Certainly sounds like him. He'd had a hip replacement, so would have had a stick for a time.

Think we have a well worthy recipient for the programme collection, via PM.
