How can he possibly lose with new exciting groundbreaking policies like that?

Great start for the blue team you mean? The freedom of movement thing will be in the top 3 of most Leave voters list of issues. FFS Starmer is meant to be the sane one of the candidates.. lol

Nah, it’s just a one way street with people flocking to the UK from the EU to take advantage of the NHS and take the jobs away from the natives. You’ll be hard pressed to find any Brit moving in the other direction. 🤫

Comes from a law background like Blair. As soon as he gets in we will be in center left hell. A tory light party. F uck that.

Yeah, far better to continue with the hard left socialist party that ensures Labour never gets elected again. That’s what the people need.

Take it up with the Independent. Not me. "Labour leadership candidate Rebecca Long-Bailey will pledge to help end the 24/7 work culture by giving employees the right not to be contacted outside working hours. The shadow business secretary will on Friday commit to giving workers the freedom to switch off phones so they do not have to be anxious about receiving emails and calls during leisure time."

What we need is a Labour party thats completely repellent to people who are already sypathetic like me. People who can only see the world from the prism of glorious Corbynite socialism vs Tory lite are too immature to be allowed anywhere near forming a government. Its no suprise we got hammered. I'll be voting for Nandy anyway because she's been by far the best media performer and shes not afraid to say what needs to be said. Starmer will be getting my second preference because of how much the hard left hate him, and at this stage that can only be a good thing.

Hard left lol People actually found Corbyn's policies popular but the Murdoch press made him the most smeared politician I have ever seen. Some of those policies will no doubt be taken up by Boris to claim as his own. Northern Rail being a prime example. [Post edited 7 Feb 2020 13:06]

The context is she wants to legalise something that is and always has been legal. There is no law against ignoring emails or not answering the phone or a text. If there was I would be serving a couple of life sentences now.

Which policies has Keir said he was abandoning? On public ownership, the choice for Labour leader looks uniform across the board. https://weownit.org.uk/labour-leadership-tracker

It’s not about legalising anything. It’s giving workers legal protection against being punished or disadvantaged for not being available 24/7 to answer calls and/or emails. I’m not saying whether it’s needed or not but I’d imagine there are people working for less scrupulous employers who may welcome such protection. The article you keep selectively quoting from mentions that a similar law has recently been introduced in France. And for the record, if I had any votes in the Labour leadership election, which I don’t, none of the, would be going to Long-Bailey.

Relatively speaking it went completely unread. The face on the cover ensured it remained on the shelf. For what it’s worth I had no issue with three quarters of it.
