As a lifelong music buff...all forms...too many to mention...and many talked about on here. But are there classical music buffs out there. I personally dabble with it because you cannot escape someone like Mozart and his influence on all forms that came later...Vaughan Williams has always interested me. It's fabulous stuff...we under estimate how good it was really

Nisi Dominus- Cum Diderit; Antonio Vivaldi

Awesome counter tenor singing from Andreas Scholl on this relatively recently discovered piece by the Italian Baroque genius.

Absolutely love it and have been playing it a lot recently.

I have always also really loved Mozart's Horn Concertos.

Schumann is Robert (her husband). Clara wrote a small amount when young and they wrote one setting together but she was a performer rather than a composer.

Although if you genuinely meant you are a devotee of the small output of Clara that’s awesome !

To the OP. Yes, have played and listened all my life.

Opera and choral works particularly.

Handel’s operas are a particular obsession at the moment.

Another shout out to Vaughan Williams. Always loved this piece. The setting, filming and performance here - amazing.

I went to see Andrés Segovia play way back in the 70’s at the Brangwyn Hall, it was an absolute masterclass. If you’ve not heard this guy play I recommend you try listening to him, especially any guitar fans out there. Seen some wonderful concerts over the years, The Planet Suite still stands out for me, along with the usual “biggies”. I just like most styles of music. 😁

Now we're talking

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

In my funeral, I'd like, 'The Dying Swan'. Apart from being apt, I think it's an awesome piece of Classical Music.

I'd also like, 'Home Away from Home'. Again, apart from being pertinent, I think it's an awesome piece of Music. Galway / Coultier.
