We're not going to have football for a minimum of 3 weeks, but it's almost certain that the postponements will be extended. That could be 6 months without football, who knows.
It'd be great if the club put together a list of some of Swansea's best games, and uploaded them for us once a week on Saturdays at 3pm, if they had footage. Each week could be a different game, and they could be from a range of decades.
Lets say football is postponed for 5 months. 20 weeks of 20 memorable Swans games being uploaded for a limited time at the regular time slot would be a great way to still enjoy a Saturday afternoon with football. It would bring back nostalgia for older fans, and give younger fans like me a chance to see some older matches.

I thought that may be a problem. Maybe they could try and get hold of some, since these are exceptional circumstances.
If they don't have older games, it would still would be nice to see some modern games, like the Championship playoffs/final, some memorable PL games like 5-0 QPR, 2-0 Arsenal etc, some cup games from our EFL Cup-winning tournament, and one or two Europa games.
Will be interesting whether the club come up with anything. The Hull twitter admin challenged several fans to FIFA matches, and the Gillingham twitter admin beat their next opponents Fleetwood 16-0. Some small gimmicks will surely have to be used to keep interest over the break. | |

I get what your saying, but the reality is we all have a very resting time coming up.
Maintaining interest in whatever distractions we normally enjoy ( sports, holidays, going to the pub, cafes, etc ) will take a very low priority in anyone's list.

I get what your saying, but the reality is we all have a very resting time coming up.

If the end game happens and we're all in lockdown in both our countries (like Italy and Spain are), we'll need things to do. Watching an old football game once a week could suffice.
That's a good point about the pay per view. The club need money, and if fans pay hundreds of pounds for season tickets, they wouldn't care about lets say paying 5 pounds per memorable match. | |

I alluded to this in a thread above regarding the BBC’s totally inadequate replacement of MOTD. For my troubles I suffered the usual predictable abuse from the usual ill-mannered suspects. My point, not particularly well made, was that there is a huge feast of wonderful football memories that could be called on, and which would be ten times more entertaining than 3 has-beens chewing the rag. Let me provide an example:
I am 75 years old. In 1966 I was a young Maths teacher in St Joseph’s Comprehensive School in Port Talbot. It was a rugby school but I saw that a lot of boys in the school were not suited to, or interested in rugby, and would love the opportunity to play soccer, so I started a school football team and we played in the Port Talbot and District league. To further promote interest in the team from the wider school, I decided to show one lunchtime, a newsreel recording of one of the greatest matches ever played - Real Madrid vs Eintracht Frankfurt in the 1960 European Cup Final at Hampden Park before a world-record crowd of 138,000 spectators.
I remember it arrived in the post as a reel of cine-film — the cassette tape, cartridge, compact disk and dvd were still to be invented.
The response was overwhelming. Kids who had never heard of the great Ferenc Puskas, Alfredo di Stefano and Francisco Gento were mesmerised by the skills and speed at which the game was played. Eintracht were no slouches — they had put 12 goals past Glasgow Rangers in the semis — but they succumbed 7-3 to the brilliance of Madrid. It was Real’s 5th successive European Cup title — still unsurpassed. I looked up the Daily Telegraph’s “20 greatest games ever played” and this match was number 3.
So, if the BBC are short of ideas — to the extent that they thought it appropriate to screen the execrable “Mrs Brown’s Boys” in place of Match of the Day the previous weekend - then help is at hand. There have been lots of wonderful games like the one mentioned here. What a great time to dig them out of the archives and show them to a football-starved nation.
