Some of the emotive, inaccurate and opinion based reporting is probably undermining the national effort and costing lives, some of them need to quickly understand their public information role in a crisis.

The media have column inches to fill, 24 hour broadcasts to make, clicks required to be made, advertisement space to sell. Every single one of them from all ends of the spectrum have been a fcking disgrace so far. They have ramped up tensions, published misinformation, spent lots of time politically pointscoring (in all directions) and have generally caused panic.

Seeing the general publics reaction is an indication of the negative influence they have. Social media doesnt help. But it would help if there was a relatively calm and concise reporting standard by the professional journalistic mob. Alas no. We get facebook-esque clickbait.

Im seriously concerned about the mental health impact this is all going to have on people as much as the virus. Plus, unless you live in a bunker, its virtually impossible to get away from in the modern technological age. Its streamed into everyones brain virtually all hours you are awake.

Less is more.
Trouble is some are all over this crisis like a cheap suit, they need to be more careful, not to create panic and anxiety, it's worrying enough as it is.Lets just have facts, not speculation and BS.
Good post btw. PSideys
