Some speculation out there that this virus could mean the end of the capitalist system, will the pandemic help usher in universal basic income and a more socialist society or will things go even more extreme with only the wealthy been able to afford goods and services or will things just return to how they were before Coronavirus hit ?

Re stuff in shops, I noticed that the Lloyds chemists in Killay is only open an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon. The afternoon hours are suppsoed to 1 to 2 pm and I was there at 1.55pm and they were shut. I know they have a perscription delivery service, but being shut will make it difficult for people to get necessary medicines.

Yes, but it's reason for the conflict out there
Reason for the conflict? Sorry ut Venezuela should be a rich country. It has vast oil reserves. A combination of circumstances which include greed, corruption and dictatorship has left it decimated, which is possibly an understatement.

Directorship, Venezuela had some of the freest elections anywhere. Oil prices dropped and also sanctions didn't help. The Coup by the middle classes and big corps didn't help either, nor did the backing of it by the USA.

I hope Venezuela continues to resist all external pressures. I think anyone with half a brain can applaud any sovereign state resisting the tried and trusted United States regime change tactic, allowing the rape and theft of the country’s natural resources replaced by an unplayable IMF or World Bank loan.

You mean the social democratic Venezuela that was sanctioned and bullied by the greedy corporate and capitalist USA?
You will be trotting out Cuba next, a country that has some of the best medical professionals in the world.
Spot on!
Moving on, either this will lead to a govt bail out or is a great example of Kenesian economics. As we bailed the banks out in 2008, they should bail the govts out now.

As we speak, brave Cuban Doctors are embarking off aircraft in Italy.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

After the way they have been treated by the Yanks I don't blame them for protecting their own medical professionals from being stolen from under their noses.

That's a bit like praising the Southern States for trying to stop their slaves escaping. Highly educated slaves, but slaves all the same.
It's uncanny just how many Communist countries have to use walls, fences and guards to prevent their citizens from being "stolen".
