If Starmer gets in will non Labour voters (last election) vote for him ? 11:08 - Mar 29 with 14473 viewsladyjack

If Keir Starmer wins the Labour leadership contest will people that did not vote Labour at the last General Election now vote for the Labour party ?

Well done to Keir Starmer for getting elected as leader. Moving towards a more moderate position, yet retaining some core Socialist principles is just what the party, and country needs.

The added bonus of seeing Starmer, in future, dissecting and pulling BJ apart at the despatch box is just another fillip.

Fingers crossed for him.
I hope he exposes the utter dross that is "leading" our country at the moment for what it really is.

Out of its depth, out of touch and out of ideas and initiative.

Well, said Dicky. Once this is over, Labour can get back on track and get this useless lot out of No 10.

Len will be utter. Stamer's first job is to get shot of all the hard line left wingers that got the party into this mess in the first place. Not an easy task but the Party needs a root and branch overhaul. There are some very capable people in the party and it is their time now after the shambles that we have had in recent times.

It's been a bad weekend for Mr Bastani. Hopefully the likes of him, Sarkar and Jones end up in a political Pit or Sarlaac. The fúcking clowns.

Johnson will hide and not turn up after a few kickings, but that in itself will be useful over time. They can also field Rayner to do a job on anyone on the Government benches.

He’ll have to play canny with the Corbos for a little while until he can secure all the levers of party power. I imagine he will be very capable of planning that meticulously.

But as a matter of urgency get Nandy on the front bench to destroy Patel or RAAAAB as soon as we are back in business. And set Phillips on Hancock, although the 100000 tests by the end of April pledge will decide his fate one way or the other.

First job is get rid of the dross at the top of the Labour party. If he can put people in place that the rest of us can watch without fits of hysterics, people who can speak without a script and not sound like a lobotmised donkey, people we at least think trustworthy then he has a chance.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

And yet the Tory party, which has none of that, Gets an 80 seat majority. I think the biggest boil on the labour party’s arse has already been lanced today.

Rayner and the impressive Nandy will hopefully be on the frontline as the antithesis to snakes like Raab and Patel. I voted for Roseena Allin-Khan as deputy and I hope
She is also given more prominence too. Need the deadwood like Abbott and useless like Burgon out and the effective like Lammy brought forward.

The current government are failing us.

As much as I like to be critical of Corbyn, he wasn't the only problem.

Like I've said before, how bad did Corbyn et al have to be for Bojo to be the best choice? A large chunk of Corbyn's 'position' was dictated by those around him. McD, Gardiner, Abbot, Thornberry, Chakrabarti, Griffith...it needs a clear out and they need fresh blood. Saying that the whole place needs a clear out and better people found.

The Tory's are full of freakin eejits too yet Labours red wall crumbled.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Absolutely and sorry to harp on but that's been my position for ages now. I can't see anyone who wins my vote so it's about who loses it until there's only one choice left, then it's either X or spoil the ballot.

It's not just a UK problem, there's Trump of course but Orban too and others across Europe.

Yes sometimes I think we should have ' none of the above' option. If that option won then the party leadership teams would be obliged to stand down from front bench roles.

The reptilian Milne and the waste of skin that is McCluskey were the only ones dictating to Corbyn.

Agree that the vast majority of the front bench alienated a large part of the electorate who would have been potential or past Labour voters though.

There’s plenty of talent on the backbenches. Raab, Patel and the rest of that third rate, arse-licking shower won’t be looking forward to the next session.

I can’t wait to see Starmer’s forensic grasp of detail puncture Johnson’s bullshit.

Maybe next he should be planning how he's going to get people paying their fair share of tax without sounding like he's going to rape the rich to help the poor, it's a real balancing act. We don't want to scare the wealth out of the UK.

Maybe this Covid skit, bad as it is will work on Starmers side. Right now he doesn't have to worry about anything else besides holding the government to rights so he has time to work in the background developing policies, hopefully those will be forward looking policies and things the people would follow him for.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

The Labour Party have pulled one out of the bag here. Kier's wife and kids are Jewish. So the Torys cant bring that one out every time that they feel like it.
