| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

It's not a mask that you would wear other than on the machine anyway. It pumps air into my lungs all night because with obstructive sleep apnoea you stop breathing and never get deep sleep. Interesting that they are using CPAP for Covid 19 and in some cases finding it more effective than ventilation. Stay safe mate. |
I couldn’t wear one, how the hell are you supposed to sleep with one of those on. I opted for surgery which would have happened last week but hey ho.

My wife prefers a Darth B'stard. I'm not sure I'd like a CPAP, I'd probably choose surgery.

I considered surgery but a 25% success rate didn’t convince me. It may be higher depending on the particular situation for the patient. It wasn’t easy at first but I’m a determined so and so when I want to be and it changed my life very much for the better.

Is it a condition that develops over time or have you had it your whole life? I’ve always thought it must be terrifying?

It’s not terrifying because you don’t know you’ve got it. Normally a sleeping partner alerts you to the fact that you stop breathing and then suddenly gasp for breath. This happens dozens of times every night and, remarkably you don’t realise that it’s happening. You think you’re getting plenty of sleep but you never reach the deep sleep that you need for good rest and, crucially, that’s when the body does most of it’s healing if you have anything wrong with you. Research (which I’m involved in at Swansea University) has started into people using CPAP finding that long standing and chronic conditions are improved immeasurably when CPAP is used over a period of a few years.

You were probably with one of the decoys. They were played by Keira knightly so it’s a win win situation for all involved.

I do get the feeling that people feel safer wearing them which could be a negative as social distancing is more likely to be ignored. People are taking them on and off when walking into and out of shops too, after not having washed their hands. On the plus side as the lockdown is relaxed it still keeps people aware that we’re not out of the woods yet. [Post edited 22 Apr 2020 23:27]

Check out Czechia, they have been wearing home made masks for quite a while with social distancing at the request of their government. On the 29th of March they were 20th on the worldometers list with Sweden 19th. Sweden are still 19th and their cases have increased 4.7 fold since the 29th with 94500 tests Czechia are now in 42nd place with a 2.6 fold increase with 203000 tests. Both countries have a population of 10 million and neither of them has locked down. ps in that time the UK has had a 7 fold increase in cases, with 583000 tests and a population of 66 million.

Keira Knightley? Uch a fi mun. If it's not the real Queen of Naboo then I'd rather Rey or Kor Sella thank you very much.
