Footballers 18:52 - Apr 18 with 889 views | pencoedjack | Obviously the pampered ones will be wanting a holiday when/if this season ends & the next one begins I’m pretty sure this season will be finished somehow, is it best to cancel all cup competitions for next season?
Footballers on 21:23 - Apr 18 with 824 views | JBT95 | Yeah cancel the FA Cup. Watch all the lower league sides go bust - no sponsorship money. This is why this season should be voided, less damage. [Post edited 18 Apr 2020 21:23]

Footballers on 21:24 - Apr 18 with 820 views | TNT | The league is what matters, so if the cups have to go then so be it. Not from choice but necessity, if that's how it transpires. Hope you and your family are safe and well, mwsh. YJB!

You think that cancelling the FA cup next season will be the reason lower league clubs go bust?

If the season is voided Sky and BT want most of their money back. Most of the lower league sides have already spent theirs. Much more damage.

A big proportion of the lower league (and I do not mean League 2) income will be through FA Cup, Vase and Trophy prize money. If there is no income for the FA through sponsorship and TV rights for the FA Cup, all three competitions will suffer. [Post edited 19 Apr 2020 14:01]

An even bigger portion is through Sky occasionally broadcasting League 1 and 2 during the season and crucially, every play off game with its high drama that Sky pay relatively big bucks for at that level.

lg2 is never on tv - salford were cause of first game in efl and their owners. lg1 is generally only shown in international breaks.

Sky show about 20 games from league one and two. Most of them from League One but it’s not true to say that League Two games are never on.

Bollocks A high % of league 1 & 2 clubs play 1 game in the 1st round of the cup in front of 1 man & his dog. It’s only very occasionally a club from those divisions make decent money ( like Newport recently have) Anyway we won’t finish a league season unless there is drastic action on this & next/this season.

Correct. Plus the prize money for progressing each round is crap.
