Why not Swansea! After the original track into the area looked across what we now know as Jersey Marine, Crymlyn Burrows, the University site and Port Tennant.
At the time the whole area was marshland and home to hundreds of swans, resembling a 'sea of swans', hence the name Swansea. This is a fact, and may, just may be the real reason where Swansea got it's name from.  |  | | |
