Where is my best bet to pick up a good one?

Depends how much you wanna spend. I'd spend a bit more and get something solid that will last longer.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I've been very impressed with Wayfair recently, not just for garden stuff either. It's basically Amazon for the house

Easy to erect
Can be transported easily to any location within the garden due to its lightweight construction.
UV resistant.
No need to paint with timber treatment.
Comes in a variety of colours dependant on requirement.
Many styles to choose from
Cheap compared to timber or wrought iron counterparts.
It's a win win,unless you don't like uPVC.

How much can you pay Dicky?

Or put it another way, would you shell out £300?

BM Bargains in Carmarthen had a couple in stock on Friday evening, not sure how good they are o4 the price, but garden furniture is scarce at the moment after the great spring we have had.

This one from your link is constructed from one of Lutyens’ designs.

That’s Edwin Lutyens, the designer of The Cenotaph. I hope you have a high walk if you buy one, some on here would like nothing more than to climb over and deface it.

An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.

Have you ever seen the Lutyen’s designs for the Catholic Cathedral in Liverpool? Was going to be immense but WW2 and money stopped it with just the crypt built. The eventual Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King sits on top. The modernist one aka ‘Paddy’s wigwam’ in a double

Lovely bench though 👍

I'll not pay over £100.
I was thinking of making one out off old pallets.
Been out and about looking and they are way overpriced.

We kept buying them from garden centres or whatever and they fell apart pronto. Looked lovely mind. Anyway, walking the dogs in Penllergaer woods we noticed the benches they have. Enquiries revealed that they are made by a company in Bynea behind Thyssens who employ ex prisoners. They are genuine hard wearing benches the will, with minimum care, last for yonks. £300 though, but much better value than nice looking crap.

Got mine in the early hours from the back Garden a very well off residence, of course it cost me nothing, but it was hard work because of the distance I had to carry it, as well as having to hide every time a car passed which was a bit of a nuisance.

Kettler or Hartman can be left out all year. It’s what they use in garden centre outdoor restaurants. Ours have been outside for 5 years, no maintenance, no problems. We paid £115 in a garden centre sale with cushions. I think we did get a pretty good deal, but I just made an offer for what they had there and she said yes (so I could probably have got it for even less). Ours is functional. Decorative is more expensive. Also had to pay 25 notes for a chain and lock to keep perplex at bay.

Wood is generally ridiculously expensive and needs care, so bugger that.

For about £40 of materials my old man put this together for me if you're prepared to try a DIY job.

BM bargains - £50 or £60. Can’t comment on the quality though.

There's loads of free ones on many a seafront, but don't piss on it., it could be someone's dead memorium erected by a family who loved them.

OK I've changed it.

I have seen copies of them as it goes, Prof. There are a couple of books on him knocking around here somewhere. The man was visionary.

Lisa’s something of a fan too. We had a thread on him a year or so back.
