Actually I'm greedy, I like both at the same time.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Why, when your having gammon in a pub/restaurant, do they ask you if you want one or the other?

Surely you should have both (unless you ask otherwise)

And why, if you ask for both, do they charge you an extra 50p!

Boils my piss that does ...

Both btw πŸ‘

Its the cooking of gammon that is key.

Overcooked is no good so slightly pink ,best slowly grilled with pineapple added towards the end and not before .

Fresh pineapples ,naturally.

Fair enough if you can afford to "go posh"

But gammon egg and chips in the Marquis Arms @8.50 on a gridded plate cant be sniffed at... even if the pineapple ring is outa a tin πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

100% the same restaurants will be putting in claims for customers having had both during the cut price eat out scheme

Posh?
Decent pineapples in Aldi for 79p,mun.

Tinned pineapples remind me of me ol ma's Sunday dessert (afters to the plebs),along with Ideal Milk . Jesus,my nan used Condensed Milk (Conny onny to scousers/scoucers).
Only thing worse,Nestles Tinned Cream. I sometimes wonder how I managed to survive this trauma in the kitchen..

I was 16 until I saw my first fresh strawberry as I thought they all came tinned ,along with apricots and pears (the worse blight on the culinary lanscape).

Del Monte man was a paedo too

I love a coffee made with ideal milk.
It's what they used in France in the 80s when you had a NescafΓ©.

I was told to stay away from rough boys as I like fighting too much.

Killay me-via Gendros and Manselton

Got the feck out in 1976 and headed to lovely Wirral with totally unsuitable wife (of the time)

The idea of pineapple is to tenderise the tough meat. Pineapple is high in a protease (enzyme that breaks down proteins) called bromelain. More in fresh. Marinade chicken with fresh pineapple or papaya and it nearly dissolves.

I would take both if offered. Egg as choice as like to dip the chip
