Swedish u23 left winger/striker at Brighton linked to a loan to us by Brighton Argus.

Gyokeres hit seven goals and provided four assists in 26 league appearances at St. Pauli last season in a loan in bundersleague division 2.

The Argus understands Gyokeres is one of the options Swansea are considering to fill the void left by Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster, who was on loan at the club last season.

Bundesliga 2 side St Pauli are also interested in bringing the Swedish international back to the club, after he impressed when on loan last season.

He may be great. He may not. Frightening difference in class between Brewsters level and his.

Brighton Argus - did we put in the loan request for him using a tiny pencil and a small slip of paper?

Frightening difference in hype, maybe.

Whatever you say about Brewster - he more than lived up to his hype.

I doubt we'd be signing a Swedish International for our academy

Sorry, just making the point that we like young players from elsewhere but don't seem to trust our own Academy.

Its a regular thing.

Who is there to come into first team squad up front? Genuine question as I don’t see much of them. Cullen will play a big part this year I reckon but we still needed reinforcements.

You do not bring in loan players for the academy that makes no sense. He is in the Surridge mode. He seems tall but more mobile than Surridge and not a target man like Surridge. If Grimes goes Dhanda will have to take his place and have to develop. Cullen is a free kick specialist going for the net. I saw him knock in a beauy at Barry last season. Not sure about his set piece on corners and delivery for headers. He name checked Sigurdson in his training regime. One area Swansea can improve.

We have invested tens of millions in our Academy over the last decade.

Its not credible to say that we have nobody we can pick.
Otherwise whats the point in our Academy...?

The Academy produced nothing in our Premier Leagues days, bar Roberts in the last 6 games.
Bens debut was way back in 2013.

On my eyesight??

Edit - i haven’t seen Gyokores play but Brewster is a natural finisher. One in every two games for us in mostly a negative formation was superb. Maybe Gyokores could do the same but I have a nagging doubt about him being the same level as Brewster. Call it a hunch .

Swansea city academy do not produce strikers. McBurney came in as a 17-18 year old. Last local forward was Jason Bowen. Last forward fromthe area is John Hartson.

McBurnie was 19 when he arrived with about 30 senior games under his belt.

Alex Samuel is with Wycombe but hasn't played a minute for them this season, a regular in their unlikely promotion charge. Joined us from Aberystwyth as a scholar so again not a local.

Cullen and Josh Thomas the local hopes.

Stuart Roberts played up front a bit as did Jason price but that’s going back 20 odd years.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Correct, Roberts did ok from memory, bit of a Michael Owen role without the finishing ability.

He was an exciting prospect back then, I remember him absolutely ruining Julian Dicks in the FA Cup. His move to Wycombe destroyed his confidence I heard due to the treatment by Lawrie Sanchez.

I loved Stuart Roberts but not a big name?. Ryan Hedges and Marley Watkins have surpassed him being Welsh internationals and Samuels also may be a Wycombe or Stevenage from memory. Jason Bowen had a short spell in the Premier league. Liam Cullen and Josh Thomas are the next to have a crack at the biggest job in football.
