Could tomorrow be another poor deadline day? 21:17 - Oct 15 with 1012 viewsChief

Looking that way!

We bring in an unproven kid & a troubled midfielder we don't need while also losing the best centre back in the division.

Not helped by our rivals who look like they will be heavily strengthened.

Bit of a spewer

I have seen nothing to indicate that Palmer is troubled. He has not been consistent but he has come from the England U20 2016 Toulon tornament squad that was brimming with talent. Routledge was a unproven wanderer offering flashes of briliance, before he found out where Swansea was. He has to go down as one of Swansea s greatest ever players. A calculated risk nevertheless.

Wise sage since Toshack era

Will be a tough pill to swallow tomorrow with Wilson going to Cardiff, but if we haven't got the money, then so be it.

What I don't want is to us to be signing mediocre players when there's young lads in academy, and squad players we have here like Yan trying to get a game. We don't need Palmer, he's not better than MGW and unless he's not improving first XI then it's wasting money we have obviously not got.

Don't mind Wilson not coming here. After 30+ games for a PL club last season Liverpool have realised needs to drop down a level!
And if Cardiff are happy to pay over the odds, let them.

Same as they done with Brewster, but he scores a shedload at this level too. Being not good enough for the premier league champions doesn't mean he can't do a big job down in this league, which he has done in the past.

It's a huge signing for them, but it's out of our price range so I can accept that. Can't get on board with this Palmer signing though. Doesn't make sense.

It’s difficult with Yan, as he hasn’t really pushed on since his great opening match. He is more of a link midfielder than someone like Gibbs White who makes things happen.

Yan has great positional sense in the box, but hasn’t got a strong shot to back it up. When he gets the ball, our moves slow down, as he tends to gather the ball, move in the direction he is going to pass the ball and then passes the ball. By then defences are ready.

I’d love to see him kick on but in the midfield 3 we are playing there is no role he can fill.

George Byers could cover for Gibbs White, not as powerful a creator but reasonable and has a good positional sense outside the box, gets into shooting position and has a powerful shot to back it up. I have a feeling he will do well for us this season.

Kasey Palmer I can see the logic in, as he could cover for Gibbs White again at a lower level but he has the attributes to do the job, and he could cover for Andre again with the attributes at a lower level.

With a match every 3/4 days and little rest for most of our key players during international breaks, we will need players who can give our key players a break or they will breakdown.

Yeah but the facts are even with Yan's weaknesses, he is a better player than Palmer at this level if we are going by stats. Fourth choice at Bristol, but it's another one of Cooper's English side.

What is Andy Scott bringing to the table?

Could be this has been the busiest and most interesting deadline day for many a window.
Palmer on loan though ?

Ryan Manning the QPR left sided defender/midfielder being very closely linked with us now.

Very interesting move as cover for both Jake and Matt.

Heavily strengthened? One player? Have you not seen our Summer business, we should be in the playoffs, if not, more this season. Easily.

Indeed. A bizarre downbeat thread - hoping Keith's comment above continues to play out, it's already hotting up....
