Yes definitely the best bond.

He lived a good and long life and as my nan would say, he had a good innings.

RIP Sean.

Shocking.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

The word legend is over-used these days, but he truly was.

His Bond films were part of my childhood.

RIP.

Resht in peash.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Good few years I was staying in the same pub as a film crew, they were filming on location nearby, so just to be sociable, I had a couple of beers with them.

It turned out the Stars of the film were Richard Gere & Sean Connery, the guys reckoned Gere was a right pr*ck, but Connery was a top class bloke, also told me that the night before, he had popped into the pub and had a drink with them, and also put a couple of beers over the bar when he left, not bad for a Scotsman.

R.I.P. Sean Connery

As good as he was as Bond and in other roles this for me is his best performance of all:

Perfectly cast it’s about as insightful a study into human nature, the human condition, as you’ll come across. Brilliant.

An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.

Dirk Bogarde too? I've seen it. Good film.

I've tried to get my 12 year old to watch some old films but he reckons their crap because they're old, he's a youtuber...and a complete (words I can't say) when it comes to films.
I'll get him to watch 12 Angry men or The Apartment one day...maybe when he discovers boobs I'll try Some like it Hot?

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Absolutely, some brilliant films. SLIH but then the Apartment, the Odd Couple, Grumpy (and Grumpier) old men, Mr Roberts, Glengarry Glenross and if you like slapstick, The Great race. There's plenty more.

Lemmon was superb.

Mine were the same at that age, if it wasn’t new it was rubbish and they wouldn’t watch. Give him a couple of years and he’ll come round. My kids interest started with a little music, some old film sound tracks Theme from Shaft etc. They are now happy to watch old films, the Rirty Harry films, Shaft, 3 Days of the Condor all went down well. Star Wars is 42 years old!

Not Dirk Bogarde but Stanley Baker.

He would have been good as Bond, i reckon.

Yes, a cool calm Bond with the violence lurking just below the skin, just like Connery.

Jeez, look at the Hell drivers cast, some real stars in there,

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0051713/fullcredits?ref_=tt_ql_1

And while I'm at it, Bogarde, he made some cracking films too, including this, somewhat ironically the hero is Sergeant Major Coward but it's a true story, well as true as the films ever are!

We had The Password is Courage at my school. It was near the end of term and all the trunks were out ready for packing. We built a long tunnel out of them and crawled through them as in the film. I wouldn't let people through without the password. It was "courage".

Films mean a lot to us in those days. The main source of entertainment.

Talking of domestic violence. Allegedly he was not averse to physically abusing his first wife, Diane Cilento. He was reported as saying, "I don't think there is anything particularly wrong in hitting a woman, though I don't recommend you do it in the same way you hit a man."

Reported in the 'Sunday Times' last (you guessed it) Sunday.
