The Brexit thing, we are out but some people still complain. I've seen today that an Economics Professor from Uni of London, David Blake reckons the eirozone could collapse. A few experts have been saying this. What I didn't realise was the levels of debt in Southern Europe that are predicted to never be paid back.
Blake reckons the Southern members have bennusing Target2 like a "Giant credit card" and says Spain owes 412 billion, Italy 446 billion and Germany is owed 955 billion (all figures in Sterling) which will never be repaid.
I don't wish economic disaster on so many people but if there is a collapse it'll be the case that we got out just in time.
Even so, a Eurozone collapse would still hit us hard. There could be trade problems, interest rates would be affected, the fallout could be huge.
Economically speaking, with Brexit, with Trump in the USA, with so much apparent bad debt across EU members, the pandemic couldn't have hit at a worse time, not even if it was planned! [Post edited 12 Jan 2021 10:48]
