We have several devolved areas, but there is no getting away from it, we are still being governed from Westminster.

I've no idea why you are mentioning your grandad? I brought mine up to try and put it simpler for you, that i don't hate the English. I've not questioned your belief on the matter.

You seem to equate people who would like to see an independent Wales, as being people who hate the english. It's a lazy comparison to make. I can't help it if you feel it was antagonistic language, it wasn't meant to be. But it's similar to people who feel offended, I don't care. But take it from me, I do not hate the english people. On the other hand, I want any english sport team to lose to whoever they are playing. What box does that put me in now?

There you go again, assuming a people feel one way about Europe as they do about being under Westminster rule. You should stop doing that, you'd be surprised that many people don't fit into the little stereotypes you've got going on.

I'm done with this thread now, I can't be reading Perchys bitter and twisted cowardly posts any longer. He's got serious issues him.

The devolved areas are governed by the Senedd, they can raise taxes, they run education, health and social care, agriculture, Culture, economic development, environment, highways and transport, local government and tourism. That's most of the show.

I mentioned my grandad, like you, to make a point, about the UK being our country.

I said some people, I didn't equate all indy supporters with hating the English. I will accept that you don't hate the English but then why do you want every English team to lose, whoever they may play? As long as the English lose it's ok then.

I haven't assumed very much really. There have been plenty of posts on here from Indy supporters who would go running back go the EU and beg to rejoin. If it's stereotypes you don't like, what about all the stereotypical abuse thrown at Unionists and brexit supporters?

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

It's called protecting your country from the foreign hordes and if you referring to WW2 then it really was called National Service and yes some had a choice, the Bevin boys for example could either work down the mines or enter into the armed forces .Democracy at work

If you are suggesting that working class young men willingly chose to give their lives for the likes of Johnson, Farage, and Mogg then you are again wrong.

If you fight Nazi Germany and win, then you are not fighting for the tax evaders, the awarding of Government contracts to mates, the isolationism of Brexit, the lies, the selling off of public healthcare, and the fake triumphalism of English nationalism.

You are fighting for the basics like education, healthcare, jobs and a better future.
As the post war vote confirmed - a Labour socialist future.

They fought the war for the country, not the dodgy politicians that now infest us. They fought to preserve freedom and democracy for all.

That we now have such rubbish politicians as Bojo and Drakeford is entirely our fault, we have reaped what was sewn.

No idea , perhaps some of the dopey independents could answer that one for you . They want independence but are then happy to be ruled by an unelected commision, its probably a case of anyone but Westminster

If they dropped the Independent Wales idea IMO they would get a lot more votes, thus allowing them to make an actual difference in Wales.

Power devolved is power retained.

Scotland are going.
The north of Ireland is already in the EU for trading purposes.

The status quo for Wales will not work in these changed circumstances.

Wales needs independence because otherwise its looking at perpetual English nationalist Tory governments. It really is that stark a choice.

Far enough but I would vote Plaid but not for independence. Would they not be better to put independence on the back burner to show first how they could improve Wales and further down the line go for a vote. When they have impressed the Welsh electorate.

Reduced, no I didn't forget because the numbers show we have more represenation than England. we have 40 MP's which works out at around 1 MP for every 77,500 Welsh residents. In England there are 533 seats for around 56 million people which is one for every 105,000 people.

So our reduced reps are still more per head than England. To my way of thinking we should have far fewer MP's and if the Senedd was doing a good job all we'd need is a handful.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Most British cities have problems and I'm not saying for a minute that that is not the case , but county lines drug dealing is organised crime initiated by gangs , and to pretend otherwise is a slight to those families affected by the scum. For for clarity, my feelings are not selective against a particular region , I hold the same opinion regardless of where ever or who ever they are .

As are mine but I worry about people bringing up the killing of Rhys Jones into this thread which is about hatred of Welsh.

Point proven.

I notice how lots of these unionist supporters tend to be right wing Ulster, Israel, England, USA, Boris, Trump, Kippers and Cons etc
They seem to use the same tactics of falsely labelling, as regards Welsh people that are sympathetic towards Welsh independence they accuse them of hating the English, lol, one has to laugh, how could you hate Holly Willoughby in that dress the other night ?
These right wing Ingurland quislings are an embarrassment.

You would think so. Shirley....?

Wales has never ever voted Tory.
I guess some white flight type little Englanders now living here might vote for them...?

What i will guarantee you though is that - as always - the progressive vote in Wales will far exceed the Tory vote.

They can stick with the dreadful Neil Hamilton and Mark Reckless, and we can stick on the side of Nye ? I think that sums it up ... ?

You are right the Welsh people will always vote for the tired, discredited, old fashion, left wing polices of Labour. That is why Wales is falling behind the Rest of the UK in all things that are devolved to the senedd.

Too many are happy to accept second best. Sad really.

Have you been watching Ross Kemp as well?. It's hardly open warfare is i? I have been to Liverpool many times and never seen any trouble at all - except when the Swans played there early 80s, and that really was gang warfare.

Jesus .He still on about it.
FFS Ray.
Look ,you dont have to live there, holiday there, shop there nor buy any drugs from there not even turn up and hoot someone. No,you can stay put in the urban idyll that is Swansea,a crime free, drug free idyll and one where you never see any violence or crime.omewhat different to what I remember and see in the media.

Not all Jacks share your delusional view of Swansea and the tourists that flock to Liverpool don't seem as put off as you. When covid eases, have a gander at how the city's hotels fill up so quickly and read the reviews of people's visits.

I have friends there who have

never taken drugs, killed anyone, work, have a nice house ,nor abused anyone because of where they happen to live .

My parents were burgled, had car stolen and burned out ,whilst they were at chapel ,and mum hated the place but was stuck because it was her home town and she never lived anywhere else . he loved coming up to see us and popping over to Liverpool which she loved mainly because of the people and how friendly and straight talking they were, unlike her neighbours and fellow chapel goers who she found hypocrites. So ,stay well away and worry more about Swansea and how it will survive when Debenhams shuts .

Liverpoolphobia alright

On checking the crime figures ( 3 year period) for university cities, Swansea was one of the best and Liverpool one of the worst.
