She took part in no terrorist acts and wasn't even a member, she just married a guy who wast. Even out govt know and acknowledge this. Why she is being singled out when 400 fighters have already returned and been vetted by the security services is some political matter which we aren't to know

Were MI5 watching her and her friends ? Were the girls being encouraged to go out into the community to see if they could join up with Isis and those doing the encouraging could then find out Isis members/sympathises over here. There is something strange about why the UK authorities want to wash their hands of this young girl/young woman. PS They don't want her in open court, it's very fishy. [Post edited 27 Feb 2021 13:57]

Somebody from their school went to Syria before them, our secret service would have been watching the pupils, teachers, comings and goings to see what was going on (you would expect that to be the case), if there was any grooming/radicalising going on etc, they would want the investigation to try and catch as many ring leaders as possible, if our secret services had used children for the greater good and save lives as they might see it, it would then be very awkward if it came out in open court. Begum on 12:49 - Feb 27 by londonlisa2001 | It hasn’t been ‘answered’ as she is appealing the decision. The case this week was not the answer to that question (the Home Secretary at the time stripped her of citizenship and she has the right to appeal). The question this week was simply whether she can return to the UK to appeal the decision, or whether she has to do it from where she is (some refugee camp). The Supreme Court have reiterated she can appeal against the stripping of citizenship (so the question remains open) but have said that she can’t come here while that happens. The decision that someone has to fight a legal appeal from some camp without lawyers is removing basic rights to a fair trial. It’s ridiculous. |

The majority on here bang on when the courts makes odd decisions that appear to be contra to UK law (when dealing with topics that trigger them) so I find their view on this woman rather odd. Personally, my view is that she should be banged up but the right to a fair trial is paramount and therefore she should have her day in the courts.

Of course it has been answered, that answer may (but very likely won’t) change upon appeal. But as of this moment she is not British.

She isn’t being singled out, that’s your lack of understanding of the case. 800 duel nationals who decided to leave the U.K. to join Islamic State got their citizenship removed to stop them returning. Begum is merely one.

You know all to well that once she sets foot in the UK the courts can never deport her, whether she's found guilty or innocent, that's the main reason her legal team want her to appear in person.

No they haven’t what? What I stated was a fact not an opinion. She is one of many that had their citizenship revoked, nearly 1000 when I last read. May have been more since. Those returning may not have had duel nationality, making it illegal to block their return. That would have no comparison to the Begum situation.

Nope, only 800 left this country to fight, and 400 have returned
